New from Strike Industries comes a picatinny top rail with integrated backup iron sights for the H&K MP7. This must easily be the most niche product Strike have ever developed! The front post and rear aperture sights fold down into the rail to avoid obstructing the view of the ultra low profile micro-red dot optics often used with this Personal Defense Weapon. Factory H&K backup Iron Sights are the traditional popup style that sit on top of the rail (think Magpul BUIS) and require an optic large enough to clear the top of the BUIS.

Why would Strike develop such a niche product? An employee of the company told me it was developed for and at the request of a “special unit”. When pressed he would not say more.

Despite their size, the sights are adjustable for both windage and elevation. The total weight of the rail and sights is actually less than the stock H&K rail they replace, decreasing the overall weight of the weapon. Judging by the size of the sights, you probably will not want to use them as your primary sight, they are true backup sights, to use when the primary optic fails.

If you are one of the new lucky folks in this country to have access to a MP7, this is one aftermarket accessory you should own. It is selling for $299. For the rest of us, we will just have to dream about owning an MP7.
