Armalite AR-10 PRC308

Armalite AR10 PRC20

Armalite introduced a new rifle at the NASGW Expo called the AR-10 PRC308.

The new gun was designed with input from Surgeon Rifles and AWC Silencers. All three companies are owned by Strategic Armory Corps, and it is not unusual to see collaboration between companies in such circumstances.

Armalite advises the AR-10 PRC308 is chambered for the .308 Win/7.62x51mm cartridges and ships with a Magpul 20-round PMAG. Additional features and specifications:

  • 20″ stainless steel barrel
  • 1:10″ twist
  • low profile, two position gas block
  • Surgeon Rifles/AWC Silencers PSR Thread-Over muzzle brake
  • aluminum, free floated handguard with partial quad rails fore and aft
  • ambidextrous safety
  • Geissele SSA two stage trigger
  • 11.4 pounds

Note that the photo here shows an optional Cerakote finish and AWC suppressor. The MSRP has not been announced yet. Guns should ship in 2016.

Can we also have a ROC556 for political correctness?

No, because Taiwan is not politically correct. They squandered the aid we gave them to fight the Japanese on chasing the commies around the country, and their incompetence and corruption led to theme being kicked off the mainland. I’m surprised they even managed to hold their island so long. In fact, I’m pretty sure George H. W. Bush told Reds that if they wanted to “reclaim” Taiwan the US would not intervene.

        >They squandered the aid we gave them to fight the Japanese on chasing the commies around the country, and their incompetence and corruption led to them being kicked off the mainland.
Uh, you got timelines and factions mixed up. KMT of China was chasing the commies around the country before, and a short while after, Japanese invasion. US Aid to KMT, then “legitimate” Government of China, didn’t come until in 1940s when the US imposed embargo on Japan, but by the time that happened KMT were already in truce with the commies (kidnap/Coup by General Chang). Totally agree with “imcompetence” and “corruption” part though.
        >I’m surprised they even managed to hold their island so long.
Because Korean war and Vietnam war, and the fact commies were no less corrupt and incompetent (Great Leap + Cultural Revolution, among other things)
        >George H. W. Bush told the Reds that if they wanted to “reclaim” Taiwan the US would not intervene.
But this prez only did 4 years, Clinton and other presidents after do hold different views about the matter. Going further would touch politics and not history, so I digress.

No pics loading for me either.

    • dbhm

Yep, me either. No pics, no ads (which is ok). The only pic is the meme above.

    • Fred Johnson

      No photos here either.

I’m interested in seeing this ArmaLite.

    • Sorry about that – operator error when I uploaded the photo earlier. Should be fixed now.

  • KestrelBike

I’m going to guess msrp of $2,899

    • BattleshipGrey

I thought about asking what the MSRP was, but I realized… it doesn’t matter, I won’t be able to afford it. 🙂

I remember I was talking to this Marine Corps guy who owned a gun shop and he told me that basically the AR10 is will always be inherentely unreliable due to that the 7.62×51 deposits more fouling than the 5.56×45 round, and that a rifle like SCAR H was better because of the op rod. I find that pretty odd considering .308 is what the AR was designed for originally.

Lotsa people who know how to shoot guns don’t actually know much of anything about how they work or the history behind them.

Gun store owners and military guys are probably the worst IMO.

    • CommonSense23

Well that’s what happens when you talk to people who don’t have a clue what they are talking about.

  • Dracon1201

Pretty nice, 11.4 lbs is a wee bit heavy sand optic…

  • codfilet

    want.

  • RICH

If Surgeon Rifles is involved in this build the rifle is two things; deadly accurate and deadly costly…. ! Beautiful weapon.
