KAK Industry Sig MPX Pistol AR Buffer Tube Adapter

kaktubempx

KAK Industries recently released their new AR-15 buffer tube adapter for the Sig Sauer MPX pistols. Their new adapter allows you to mount any AR-15 buffer tube to your MPX pistol, you can go with a pistol specific buffer tube and fit a Sig brace or one of those fancy new Shockwave braces. Or you can go the SBR route and put on a stock. The KAK mount is made out of 6061-T6 aluminum and installs onto the rail on the rear of the MPX pistol with 3 cross bolts. They retail for $43 at kakindustry.com.

ENABLES THE ADDITION OF AN AFTERMARKET ARM BRACE OR
OTHER PISTOL BUFFER TUBE ACCESSORY

ADAPTER IS MADE OF 6061 T6 ALUMINUM, FLAT BLACK ANODIZED

IF USING A CARBINE STYLE CASTLE NUT BUFFER TUBE
THERE ARE TWO THREADED ALIGNMENT HOLES (10×32 THREAD) FOR TUBES
THAT USE A NOTCH FOR INDEXING. A 3/16 HALF DOG SOCKET SET SCREW
WOULD BE USED FOR PROPER INDEXING.

Looks to be nicely done, no sharp corners, low profile and good price!
I’d bet on it, that a lot of people will use this b. tube adapter with the LWRC ultra compact stock after Form 1 paperwork.
The UCIW has been really popular with SMG/subcarbine guys recently.

Since the adapter uses standard Picatinny interface, it should work with the
    Rock River PDS pistol too.

    • avconsumer2

any thoughts on those Rock River pistols? Considering a purchase.

Nothing to add, sorry, I’m not a PDS owner.
Nutnfancy on Youtube has an older, but still relevant long term review on the PDS carbine, it’s worth checking out, if you haven’t seen that one already!
The pistol version is basically the same gun (except for the short barrel of course), it just doesn’t have the bulky rail mounted side folding adapter of the carbine.

10-4. Will have a looksey. Thx!

I don’t understand adding this to a pistol that does not normally have a receiver extension. I get the logic with an AR pistol, because you are just adding a piece onto the existing extension – but how is this not just adding a stock to a pistol? Same with the AK pistols using the extension.
I know, I know, it’s all about “intent” and “use”. At least with the AR pistols it was not quite so transparently skirting the NFA.

I guess its nice for anyone wanting to SBR it who wants a better (more comfortable/stable) stock than the Sig one – assuming Sig will even sell it to SBR owners.

And of course there is the Sig Arm Brace but that’s a bit of a mine field at the moment.

      • Cymond

Sig has stated that stocks will be available for SBRs eventually, but no luck so far. Plus, this is probably cheaper than Sig’s proprietary stock.

        • nova3930

This plus a good milspec RE and stock would probably be less than 150. The sig stocks are supposed to be north of 300 last i heard

Whether or not there is a buffer mechanism, thsee sort of things (like the shockwave) can be used as braces to gain additional support, especially when shot like a “pistol.”

And what’s wrong with “skirting” a ridiculous regulation that benefits nobody, anyway? Even if that were the case.

A presence of NFA items doesn’t increase the likelihood of crime.

  • JLR84

Have there been any updates on the ATF backtracking and declaring that shouldering a pistol with a brace “modifies” it into an unregistered SBR?

    • Glock Guy

The odds of running into an ATF agent is slim. Like getting struck by lightning on a sunny clear day.

  • Donny Trump

Pass. I’ll wait for a 3rd party flip to side adapter. Would the MCX stock and flip to side adapter work on an MPX? That, I would be interested in . . .

  • patrickiv

    That’s a good-lookin’ gun.
