Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley Revolvers in 480 Ruger, 454 Casull

Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley

Lipsey’s, a US-based distributor of firearms and gun accessories, is now selling a pair of revolvers made exclusively for them by Ruger. The two new Super Blackhawk Bisley revolvers are 5-shooters chambered in 454 Casull and 480 Ruger respectively.

Unique to these two revolvers is the addition of a locking base pin so it doesn’t creep out under recoil. Additionally, for these revolvers Ruger recessed the chambers to allow for a fully supported loading gate.

Both revolvers have 6.5″ barrels with a ramp front sight and an adjustable rear sight. The frame and barrel are stainless steel, and the guns have a satin stainless finish. The cylinders are not fluted, and the revolvers feature Bisley hardwood grips.

The MSRP is $969 for each gun.

It’s no Bowen, but it seems a great offer at a reasonable price, considering that the alternatives are either FA or customs.
.475 Linebaugh is probably just a modified cylinder away from the .480 Ruger.

    • Anonymoose

I’ve been thinking about having a 5-shot .475 cylinder made for a .480 Alaskan. You know, just to have a (relatively) small flamethrower/wristbreaker.

      • The Brigadier

Does Ruger still make the Alaskan? And if they did, what do you do for ammo? I read that it was the more powerful than the Casull and the S&W .500.

      • The Brigadier

Oh and by the way, for all of you who live in Alaska, Vlad the Bad Putin was speaking to an international group two days ago and demanded that the U.S. give back Alaska, or he would take it back. He didn’t smile or laugh, but was dead serious. The man is demented. Keep your big bore rifles and revolvers just in case.

        • BaconLovingInfidel

You sure you didn’t just get drunk and watch Red Dawn and get confused?

          • The Brigadier

No Infidel, I saw this the other day, and the translator gave an accurate translation, and Putin said it in a threatening manner. The sanctions against Russia have caused that country’s economy to tank and Putin has to keep coming up with ‘us vs. them’ statements to keep from being booted from office. You know what has historically happened to anyone booted from office in Russia. Nyet! Nyet! Bang!

  • Griz

I don’t understand the desire to break ones hands and wrists just to fire a revolver. I get that if going after Grizzly bears or car engines, but I think most of these will be range toys. To each his own, and enjoy the pain guys, I’ll keep with .44 mag.

    • milesfortis

      “To each his own….”

That’s the Glory of American Freedom and Liberty. No one has to justify their desires. Only fulfil them as their wallet allows.

    • Kelly Jackson

Maybe you should get some less girly wrists Caitlyn.

  • sauerquint

This will probably be a big seller up here in Alaska. I prefer 12 gauge slugs myself.

    • Kelly Jackson

While I agree I’d rather have a shotgun, if I’m simply backpacking a revolver like this would be great.

Dasani sparkling hello sparkle is important

    • MR

Yes, dasani won’t be selling any water to me, and I hope you’re successful in your campaign. Wish the ad persons would figure out that a negative impression might drive me to avoid their product.

      • Noelle Wright Traywick

On cell phones there WAS a stupid ass water add that would pop up on EVERY PAGE. I woke up and came here first as usual, and I just couldn’t take it any more. Do I Dasani watered the Hell out of the comments AND NOW IT’S GONE! I actually improved my favorite site! Woo WOO!

        • sauerquint

Yes, you matter so much. Polluting the comments section is almost important.

    With wood grips….. sounds painful!

  • Noelle Wright Traywick

Dasani sparkling hello sparkle ruined my favorite website, or was it greed?

    • John

      Dude, what?

      • milesfortis

Everybody “Flag” (flag as inappropriate) his posts and Discus may pay attention.
Check out ‘his’ Discus account. IMO, it’s been hacked for use as a spambot

        • Jeremiah Wright Sr.

Nope, just woke up sick of it.

          • milesfortis

So you pollute a website with inane crap to cure whatever virus your sister downloaded on your phone?

  • John

Well. Any C.J. Box fans are definitely going to try to acquire the Casull. I’d put some heavy duty rubber grips on it, though. 🙂

    • The Brigadier

I hope Pachmayr makes some over sized grips for these. Their’s made all the difference on my Ruger .357.

  • Paul White

I have gun lust now. But I’ll stick with the .44 I’m saving for I guess

  • Vitsaus

Caliber is irrelevant to the glory that is the Bisley.

  • Anonymoose

    This pleases me.
