What is better than a M1A with a 20 round magazine? A M1A with a 50 round drum, of course.┬áPaul writes …

This is my beloved Springfield M1A. It wears a Vortex viper PST 1-4x which sits on a vltor casv rail all tied into a Boyd’s walnut stock. James from X products was at the range the same day and hooked me up with an X products x14 skeletonized 50 round drum FOR FREE after shooting the rifle. His generosity left me speechless.

I feel inspired to get myself both a M1A and a X Products drum.

Finally a post on real man’s firepower enough of Nathaniel’s kiddy carbines in little .223 LOL LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nadnerbus

Looks pretty cool. Looks pretty heavy too, like 12 or 13 pounds fully loaded.

Man, I wish I could afford to shoot my .308s these days. So much fun.

  • Vitsaus

Now your cast receiver M14 clone can shoot twice as long!

You must drive a Mercedes with premium gas only I assume…

      • Budogunner

And he only carries Wilson Combat 1911s.

  • Joshua

When all you do is bench the rifle why not?

  • USMC03Vet

    Suddenly Wolfenstein!

  • TheNotoriousIUD

    Freaking cool rifle, dude.
    Throw a suppressor on there.

    • Budogunner

Unfortunately, M1A’s can be fussy to suppress and are usually louder than other options in the same caliber. I looked into it myself at one point.

      • iksnilol

Adjustable gas system should help there. Properly adjusted it makes it vent less. Less venting= less noise.

        • Budogunner

Someone may have designed a switchblock equivalent since I last looked, but the problem used to be that a rifle tuned to run safely suppressed wouldn’t cycle reliably unsuppressed. Am untuned rifle would have way too much back pressure when suppressed.

          Again, that may have changed.

      • TheNotoriousIUD

        Didn’t know that.
        Ive never owned one myself.

  • Tassiebush

That slip on, adjustable stock thing looks really handy

  • Paul

Thanks for the positive feedback! Yes, it is very heavy and no it is not a forged receiver. I knew I would receive flak about it not being forged, but hey I’m no professional and just like blasting away at the range when I can afford to.

  • adverse

    Oh My goddddddddddddddd………..

  • Grindstone50k

Is that one of those high-powered hicap clipazines I’ve been hearing about?

  • jeff k

  • GunKnowItAll

Beautiful rifle, man. Makes me want to take off the synthetic stock and go old school.

  • iowaclass

If this sudden girth I’m experiencing lasts for more than four hours, I suppose I need to consult a physician.

  • barry soetoro

    you need a steel receiver
