Larry Vickers & Wilson Combat Partner to Release Vickers Elite 1911

Normally, I would roll my eyes at the mere mention of yet another celebrity-edition firearm, but I hate to say it, Larry Vickers’ Elite 1911 from Wilson Combat is almost exactly as I would customize one a 1911 handguns down to the color scheme. As such, it may just be a reasonably priced Wilson Combat, all things considered ($3,850 base price).

Larry’s choices include flared magwell, aggressive cocking serrations, serrated top slide (to reduce glare), gold dot-front, mid-length trigger, & checked front and rear grips. As a bonus, it includes a fluted chamber.  The base configuration is a left-sided safety only. The ambi safety is an optional upgrade.

    Description from Wilson Combat:

A special .45 caliber Wilson Combat magazine was also developed for this model with extensive input from Vickers based on his deployment experience.  The Vickers Duty Magazine has a reinforced, solid tube for added strength, a newly engineered follower with sand cuts and a last round retention feature.  The standard coil spring has been replaced with a stainless flatwire spring for the ultimate in long term feeding reliability in extreme environments and hard use. An extended steel base pad has been added to make this magazine the new standard for tactical use.
