250 Meter Shot With 10mm Glock 20

Larry Vickers takes out his Glock 20 and does a walk back drill. Starting at 50 meters, he shoots a full sized MGM torso steel target. He walks back in increments of 50 meters. He manages a hit in three rounds as far back as 250 meters.

    Pretty cool.

  • I am not a guy keen on going to any pistol training classes or anything, but I would go to one of Larry’s. He just seems like a cool guy who knows when the be serious and when to make light of a situation.

Hope you don’t carry Mexican style! Lol

We do exactly this kind of stuff with a Kimber .45 that I own and a smaller steel target. But so far we are only out to about 100 yards. We walk back about 10-15 yards at a pop. It is tons of fun with friends and everyone is always amazed at how far and accurately they can shoot a pistol at further ranges.

Doesn’t Larry know Glocks just “go off” while re-holstering?

    • Nicks87

      Well, nothing is perfect.

    • SickandTired

I do! Especially if the holster has a retention strap and you didn’t make DAMN Sure that Sucker was Fully out of the way of the “Safe Action” Trigger! No wonder a few of my GLOCK compatriots like the carrying Cold option! Not I, I just require a safety of some sort now. Just personal preference.

After seeing Miculek’s 1,000 yard revolver shots… meh.

I’ve got 10″ steel targets at 50 & 75 yrds. I’l regularly hit 8/10 shots with my Ruger MKII .22lr & Colt Anaconda 44 Mag with red dots, BUT I’ve got old man eyes.
I’ll have someone that’s never shot a pistol usually hit the 50 yrd target within 2 shots, if they obey. It’s a lot of fun.

    Proud to own a glock

  • smartacus

Hi guys. Anybody know where i can get the really long 9″ extended barrel for my 20?

Wolf sells a long barrel for the 20. — Lyle

G20 is my favorite pistol but I’ve only done 150 yards. Never tried beyond but now I have to. it’s not hard at 150 actually…100 is super easy with this gun. Can’t think of a better sidearm for the military to use either.

    • Mazryonh

Sure, a Glock 20 has much to recommend it as a military sidearm, but it’s doubtful many major military forces could devote the training time for its personnel to become really proficient with it. Handguns have not been a priority in major armies for a long time. Even the FBI, who rely heavily on their handguns, decided the .40 S&W was too much.

  • Mazryonh

Just how much easier are these shots at 200+ yards with this caliber compared to the 9mm and .45 ACP? There are other videos showing shots of this range bracket from other calibers, but I don’t believe I’ve seen one showing just how differently the shooter must set the sights for each caliber (which would give you an idea just how far each caliber dropped in transit).

  • Lyle

It’s pretty cool, but really? If I’d done that shooting, and someone put a freaking edit between every gun shots and impacts on the target I’d kick their ass. That’s very dumb. If this is how we’re going to present our trick shots, then I’ll show you a video of me shooting a .38 snubbie at sixteen miles and hitting a golf ball five shots in a row. Easy.

I was hoping someone else would point this out, but no; I have to be the stick in the mud. Dang. — Lyle
