I hope you all had a good 4th of July. Aside from the somber importance of this day to the American readership, I thought you all could appreciate some gun porn. Nothing really new here, but wanted to share how I spent some of my day.
BMC Tactical sponsored a 4th of July family day shoot and I was given an invite to come out and play. Walt (the owner of BMC) contributed over twenty weapons to the day (and somewhere a little south of ten-thousand rounds, plus 3 cases of diet coke for the Can-Cannon), and most attendees brought some of their own. We had everything from single shot .22lr rifles to a suppressed MP5 to a Barrett M82A1 (in .416). There were also dozens of different targets to pick from; paper up to AR500 steel gongs.
BMC occasionally sponsors a day like this as a “thank you” for supporting a local shop. Which is really something that I strongly believe in–support as local as you are able, wherever you are. It is easy (and in a lot of cases, cheaper) to buy things online, but an online cart cannot replace the knowledge base and expertise local shops provide. And keeping local shops alive allows them to invite you out to shoot a $7.00 .416 round from a Barrett M82A1… 🙂
And for the highlight of the day, there was a vehicle course set up in an dry wash. Who here has ever got to shoot full auto from a moving vehicle? If not, just pretend you were in the vehicle… 🙂
Again, nothing new or noteworthy here. Just some pics and videos on a great New Mexico day shooting with friends and family. Hopefully most of you were able to get out and support our great sport and heritage!
