West sent us info on his new AR-10 build which includes a …

* Palmetto State Armory AR10 16″ stainless barrel.
* JL billet 12″ M-lok free float rail.
* Surefire Pro Comp
* Magpul gear, afg, pmag, k2 grip
* Aero precision light weight scope mount
* Primary arms 4-16 mil dot scope
* QD bipod

He also said that is weighs 9.5 lbs without the bipod and 11 lbs with it. I think it looks great. I also like the two/tone FDE/Tan color scheme.

    This is turning out to be the year of the AR-10 & AK-47.

  • Mother Nature’s Son

    these guys need to say whether these AR-10’s are DPMS style or armalite. this is most likely DPMS, looks like my LR308

    • DIR911911 .

      my dpms doesn’t have that bump above the magazine well on the upper. tried to zoom in but I can’t make out the lettering on the mag well.

    • the_duck

      This is DPMS, but slightly proprietary so you have to stick with Palmetto State Armory’s uppers (or file down the areas that aren’t right).

      With that said, you can get a Mega 308 build, which uses parts from both the DPMS & AR-10.

  • KungPaoChicken

    With a proudly made in PRC shitscope. Oh yeah!

  • Lance

    What make was the lower receiver???

  • Esh325

    It’s a shame they never standardized the AR-10.

      I always wonder what would have happened if AR-10 had been adopted instead of the M16. Would 5.56mm be a thing? The M249’s volume of fire might drive a move to 5.56mm squad autos for the ammunition weight. I don’t know.

  • TheSmellofNapalm

    Frankly I don’t see the appeal of .308 for anything but hunting. The 5.56 with the right barrel length, twist rate and ammo can compete with 7.62×51 out to 1,000. The Mk. 262 outperforms some .308 loads. Some semi-auto competitions allow both rounds and still the 5.56 is more popular. In a bolt gun, I can see the appeal of a larger round. But a gas gun? Heavier, less capacity, parts wear/break faster, and more recoil. Why?

      The joy of something different. I like my 5.56 ARs but I am usually at the range burning through .308 but I tend to favor my larger caliber rifles. I don’t know preference i guess I have no legit reason other than just cause.

    • Fracking Saves

      Why wait on the bad guy to come through a door when you can shoot him through the wall?

    • American Diaper

      Cuz 5.56 is for f#gs

  • Palmetto State Armory barrel? I’d like some data on the accuracy of this. The 4-16x scope indicates it was built for longer distances. The PSA stuff is designed for a price point, I think.

    Does anyone have accuracy numbers for PSA barrels?
