New VP9 Holsters From Safariland

safariland1

Heckler and Koch’s VP9 is a popular gun, and many of the gun owners who have purchased one have done so for self-defense purposes. There are practically endless aftermarket options and accessories for pistols, but perhaps the one item purchased on the largest scale is holsters. Modes of carry vary widely and depend not only on personal taste but concealment method, individual build, and a host of other factors. With this in mind Safariland has come out with not one but dozens of options for the VP9. This way VP9 owners won’t be restricted to just a few choices but will have a wide variety of options.

Options include holsters with varying levels of retention and holsters made to fit guns with lights mounted to them, among others. Safariland has been manufacturing holsters for more than fifty years and has made countless holsters for those in law enforcement and the military. The company is credited with the creation of the first law enforcement Level III retention system and has spent years building their reputation in the industry.

Safariland lists the number of newly available VP9 holsters as over thirty, so whatever you’re looking for, odds are good you’ll find it in their product list. Read on to learn more about the new holsters, and visit Safariland’s site at www.safariland.com/dutygear to take a closer look. MSRP ranges from $49.50 to $240.00.

From Safariland’:

“Safariland® announced Monday the expansion of its holster line with new fits for the Heckler & Koch VP9. Fits are available in the 7TS™ holster series and in holsters with the highly durable SafariLaminate™ molded construction – providing more than 30 models to choose from, including duty, concealment and tactical options. The SafariLaminate offerings also include fits for the most popular gun-mounted lights. With so many holster options, Safariland boasts the largest assortment of holsters available for the VP9.

SafariLaminate models feature a rugged thermal-molded shell and these offerings for the VP9 include Safariland’s popular ALS (Automatic Locking System) retention. Holsters with the ALS retention feature a straight-up draw and ergonomic thumb-only release that makes it very instinctive to use. SafariLaminate construction makes these models highly durable and includes suede lining which protects the handgun’s finish.

Quickly gaining popularity since they hit the market in 2013, 7TS series holsters are made with a proprietary nylon blend called SafariSeven™, which is almost impervious to extreme heat and cold, is non-abrasive to the firearm’s finish and features a special construction that strengthens the holster body. SafariSeven is also impact-resistant and extremely lightweight.

These new fits for the Heckler & Koch VP9 are priced from $49.50 – $240.00 and are available in various Safariland finishes and colors.

Looks like it was made for them by FOBUS, at least the one in the picture.

Safariland holsters are generally tanks as far as durability goes in my experience. The new 7ds holsters (pictured) haven’t disappointed me yet and they draw MUCH faster than the older 6xxx series holsters.
