Tristar sent James their CZ-75 Compact clone, dubbed the Tristar P100, for evaluation and a review. James puts the P100 through the paces and goes over the specs and a short unboxing.

– Hey everybody, James again for TFB TV.

Today we’ve got the (beep) uck, I forgot what this guns called.

Hey everybody, it’s James for TFB TV.

Today we’ve go the Tristar P100.

It’s a CZ-75 Clone and nine millimeter.

And I’m going to shot a few rounds threw it.

Run it through the ringer.

And let you guys know how it does.

The P100 is a CZ-75 Compact Clone nine millimeter.

With a length of seven inches, a height of five inches and a width of one point three five inches.

It has a weight with empty magazine of one and a half pounds and a three point nine five barrel.

The guns a DASA and does not have a decocking lever.

Only a safety and a slide release.

You can carry it cocked and locked, if you wish.

It comes in a nice hard case with two 15 round Mec-Gar magazines, a mag loader, a cleaning brush, and a Lance Armstrong style bracelet on the butt of the gun that is literally actually impossible to remove.

Screw it.

The P100s made in Turkey which might be off putting to some shooters.

But I like what I see so far.

It’s got good front and rear slide serrations.

All the levers, they positively lock.

And their smooth in operation, so’s the slide.

The grips are nice.

There’s some checkering on the backstrap, some striations.

And it’s got an over sized grip.

Palmar grips and a thumb shelf.

The sights are good three dots.

And it’s got a picatinny rail also.

But so far with the P100 I like what I see.

Let’s see how it shots.

(gun clicking) (gunshots firing) Not bad.

I really hope that the lave might picked up the trigger reset.

It has a very positive trigger rest.

Which is very nice, unexpected.

The trigger’s great.

There’s no crunching.

There’s no real stacking.

There’s a little bit of take up in the single action.

But then there’s a nice crisp release.

And the double actions not that bad.

It’s a little on the heavy side.

Not as good as a single action.

But it’s pretty good.

So far I’m impressed especially considering the price point this is offered at.

(gunshots firing) Ya, not bad.

It’s got a nice over sized grip, saps up some of the recoil.

It’s heavy of course, having an all steel frame.

Like I said the trigger, henever you get in that single action.

The double action is fine on it.

But when you get to the single action pull, it significantly lightens up.

And accuracy is pretty good.

So far, so good.

Tristar was pretty anxious to get this P100 to me for testing.

And I can see why.

The fit and finish is pretty good.

The machining, like I said, the slide serrations are excellent.

The picatinny rail and the dust cover is good.

It’s all steel construction.

Between the grips, these chunky grips, and this all steel frame.

It really saps up the recoil.

And I’m thoroughly impressed.

In fact I guess what I should say is I’m surprised.

When I saw it was made in Turkey, to me that sounded like cost containment.

But that said, this is a pretty high quality gun.

I’ve owned Sphinx’s.

I’ve owned actual CZ-75s.

I’ve shot some of the EAA Clones.

And, you know, this one ranks right up there.

I’m very impressed, and surprised.

(gun fire) This is the compact model.

So it’s 15 rounder. 15 plus one.

It’s got about the same silhouette, about the same profile as your Glock 19s.

And similarly sized guns.

(gun fire) I’ve put a few round through it today and performance has been great.

It’s been accurate.

It’s got a great trigger.

I’m trying to find something bad to say about it.

But I really can’t.

On one side the magazine says 40 S&W, and the other side it says nine millimeter.

Bugs me a little bit.

But as far as performance goes, this things really been running.

Not a failure to feed.

Triggers been great.

Accuracy’s been good.

I’m impressed.

Tristar has something good here with the CZ-75 Clone.

So in conclusion, I was pretty impressed with the P100.

I think the MSRP was in the $400 range.

Which probably means you can get these street price for under $400.

For a gun this well constructed, this reliable, and with these features, I think it’s a bargain.

I’m wondering if anybody has any negative comments about the P100.
