Recently Tydex Holsters posted up a picture of their Millennium Falcon inspired kydex holster.

Tydex even made Darth Vader.

Off the grid made a Boba Fett holster a while ago.

And my buddy Johnny, of Black Center Tactical, made a Chewbacca themed holster.

its cool to see people getting creative with kydex

  • Needs a broomhandle version.

      Shoot First version.

How long before Disney goes nuts and lawsuit-happy?

    • Martin M

You can bet their lawyers are already looking into it.

      • SirOliverHumperdink

Disney isn’t shy when it comes to protecting their property. If corp’s ever go to war mafia style, I’d bet Disney wins.

  • Richard Wyse

Seriously need that boba fett holster, for uh, reasons

  • Jack Morris

Call me a “Debbie downer”, but I’ve never been able to get behind cheeky themed firearms equipment. It’s like the zombie crap. I just don’t think it’s appropriate for a deadly weapon.

    • BryanS

Considering that you wear it, I think a holster is different. Should they all be safety orange and kydex, or could you have some variety in color and material too?

      • Jack Morris

Let me counter your question with another question: what will this holster say about you when you’re on trial for a defensive shooting? What will your defense be when the prosecuting attorney claims you didn’t take carrying a lethal weapon seriously? How will it look to the jury when your holster is toy-like and based off of a sci-fi movie series?

I guess if somebody wants to wear one at the range to show off how much they love star wars, that’s all fine and good. A t-shirt would serve the same purpose without making light of something like a deadly weapon.

        • Vitsaus

It will tell the jury you’re probably a 30+ year old virgin, so when they find you guilty and send you to prison, they’ll feel that they’ve done you a favor as your virginity is unlikely to remain after a few nights in the slammer.

          • Jack Morris

            That really shouldn’t be funny.
            But it is.

          • Bubba B.

Oh, that’s why the call it the slammer! It all makes sense now.

          • Grindstone50k

Sh!tting on movie fans and making rape jokes! HAHA SO FUNNY

        • Bill

I’ve heard that a million times: your gun models’ name, or your gear, or whatever will influence a trial. The thing is, I’ve never heard of it actually happening. The type of gun may play a role, but any halfway competent attorney is going to argue the relevance of introducing a holster as evidence, and there’s no way someone could factually establish that your Hello Kitty holster somehow is indicative that you are a raving killer.

        • Grindstone50k

Who’s wearing this as their EDC?
What about engravings, finishes, and cerakotes?
You might be over thinking this much.

          • Jack Morris

You’re probably right. But hey, it got people talking.

          • BryanS

Massad Ayoob called and wants his “what if” scenarios back.

    • Grindstone50k

      Then don’t buy it.

    • All the Raindrops

      It’s art, dumbass.

      • Jack Morris

        So salty

        • All the Raindrops

          Lol what is that?

          • Jack Morris

My face when called a dumbass.
For real though, I have no idea. It genuinely made me lol when I saw it, so I saved it.

  • William Johnson

The holster pictured with the “rebel alliance holster” is Firefly themed. [geek cred confirmed]

    • Paladin

You can’t take the sky from me

  • greasyjohn

This is piecemeal. We all want a proper Han Solo rig. Bianchi and El Paso Saddlery need to get on it.

  • USMC03Vet

    No bedazzled Jar Jar holster?

    I’m outraged.

    • Southpaw89

I think wearing a Jar Jar holster might be the most dangerous thing a man could do at the range, assuming other Star Wars fans are present.

      • USMC03Vet

True. Nerd rage is no joke these days.

  • allannon

Just to note: I’m pretty sure the one with the Rebel logo is Firefly.

  • Zebra Dun

That wookie holster looks like a Merkin.

    • SirOliverHumperdink

      Just looked up ‘Merkin’- lol.

  • Captain Obvious

Waiting for a Princess Leah one with buns on the sides…waiting….waiting…waiting.
