James sent us a photo of his very nifty Zev Custom Glock 17. It features …

Slide: RMR cut, Zev co-witness sights, titanium striker, Zev SS dimpled match grade barrel

Frame: Zev Fulcrum Trigger, Glock OEM extended mag release, Glock OEM extended slide stop, grip reduction, trigger guard cut, bonded silicon carbide on grip, surefire x300 Ultra

Thanks James!

I kind of dig the over-the-top customization of these Glocks I’ve been seeing on the Photos of the Day compilations as an alternative to the standard off-the-shelf varieties which have all the aesthetic appeal of a remote control.

Yeah it is different. Whenever I see custom Glocks though I just think to myself “why not get a better handgun to start with”. Glock has become the Honda Civic of the handgun world in regards to customization/after market. No amount of wiz bangs is going to change that.

A Honda Civic would be a very apt description. And I view calling something a Honda Civic as a compliment having had two in the family with plus 400K and 350K miles.
I agree, for the price of the customization, one could get a “better” handgun. You’re a pro poster here USMC. You can name off a dozen I’m sure in a minute.

However, if you are a Glock fan, and you are used to shooting it as your duty or carry gun and have all the accessories, magazines and the Glocktard T-shirt, I see no reason not to throw an extra couple hundred dollars or so to make your plastic gun look interesting. And in this case, make the thing as gaudy and tacky and in your face as possible to differentiate it from a stock Glock makes it look better as weird as that sounds.

At the end of the day, it is still more affordable than the rigs that 1911 guys carry.

A bone stock glock 17 is finest handgun ever made. No need for bells and whistles or glocktard t-shirts.

            Sir, it isn’t 1983 anymore.

        • Nashvone

I wonder how much it would cost to have a chrome Honda logo inset on the grip.

        • G0rdon_Fr33man

Agreed on Honda Civic being an apt description, but what is a Ferrari?

          Here is my take:

          Ferrari – SVI 1911.
          Nissan GR-R – Sig Sauer X-Six Supermatch.

  • Glock Guy

SWEET! Though I wonder how much that cost him?

I want an unbiased in-the-guts review of the fulcrum trigger!

    Okay – silly question time:

At a certain point, what is the benefit of doing all of this to a Glock? I’m genuinely asking – I’ve shot one a couple times, and don’t remember it being particularly good or bad (I do remember thought the grip was a bit large).

Show me what I’m missing here by not entering the Cult of Count Glockula.
