Troy Battlemag Torture Test

Battlemag torture

Caleb Giddings of Gun Nuts Media did a torture test last year on a Troy Battlemag. I have seen some torture tests of Troy Battlemags but somehow missed this one. I thought it was rather impressive how much damage this magazine took and it still functioned.

You can find Troy Battlemags on sale rather often. A local store, Field and Stream, has them on sale. A 3 pack for $14.97!!! That is pretty darn cheap.

Friends don’t let friends buy Troy products…

I ran these mags with a Bushmaster ACR. I bought them because the tan finish matched and became very satisfied by the reliability and durability. I wish I had more experience with their carbine stock.

Terrible hiring practices, but wonderful products.

    Troy? No thanks.

$15 for a 3-pack. I’m in. I have used them in the past and they work as reliably as P-Mags. I will probably buy another 18 next time I am at the LGS.

I appreciate his enthusiasm, but I can’t be the only one who found his voice to be “grating” for lack of a better term.

    What’s wrong with Troy?

Some very questionable hiring practices in the past.

Sadly, the best way to render a Troy Battlemag temporarily useless is also the easiest. Accidentally break one of the two floor plate retaining tabs in the process of swapping out to the “pull tab” option. It’s incredibly easy to do – even if you’re not trying. No trucks rolling over it or well-placed shots from a Troy carbine required.

The F & S in my area was selling the singles for $5 and the 3 packs for $15. An employee told me that all of them were still on the shelf from the day they opened (over a year ago give or take) and they just wanted rid of them. For $5 each I’ll bite for range mags. I immediately swapped out the “pull tabs” on the bottom of those mags, to me that’s a stupid and worthless feature.

For what it’s worth… I’ve got a fully intact Troy Battlemag that won’t seat on a closed bolt. Gimmicky and mediocre are about the best descriptions I can think of for them.

No self respecting American would ever buy a Troy product. And as a longtime reader of this blog I’d ask/suggest you guys do no more reviews or promotion of their products. They are in bed with people who will murder people (women) over ALLEGED minor arms violations and then defend them as they were just following orders. They are no friend to freedom or the 2nd amendment.

  • Facepalm

This dude reminds me of an armed, even more annoying Wil Wheaton. Ensign Crusher, you are a tool.

  • highhammer

Do they still have those murderers working for them? and anti gun former chicago chief of police?

  • Shade Nazi

First off, whoever told the guy in the video that he looked cool in those shades ought to be fired or have his ass beaten….Dude, get some new shades!
