HK USP9 Tactical

Caleb Giddings over at Gun Nuts Media posted this today.

A lot of people are over the moon with the VP9 and now the HK P30SK. But off to the side HK has updated the USP9. Now there is a USP9 tactical model available. Here is the product info card.

The enhanced USP9 Tactical has a O-ring threaded barrel, raised adjustable sights as well as a match trigger with over travel stop.

There are three different styles available. Bundled with either 2x 15rd mags or 2x 10rd mags for $1,349. A third option with night sights will be $1,449.

Here is a data sheet.

Didn’t they put this out back in the early 2000’s just without the adjustable rear sight?

    • Nicholas Chen

I don’t know. I know they have had a couple different variations. But none of them with this setup. Kinda makes you wonder why it took so long.

      • hami

It absolutely should have been introduced way back when the .45 version adopted these features.

    • kipy

Yeah the USP 9SD is pretty much identical

      • Vitsaus

Yep, just Googled it. Its the same just with what looks like a stock trigger. Sad.

        • FarmerB

I have one almost exactly the same – build date in 97. Match trigger, high adjustable sights, threaded barrel, O-rings – it just doesn’t have “Tactical” on the slide.

    • hami

The o-ring barrel is going to be the main draw, in my opinion. The o-ring locks my Mark 23 up nice and tight so it’s inclusion on the USP9T is a welcome addition.

      • Vitsaus

When you buy a lot of HK you may get used to your O ring getting worn out.

Oh would you look at the time, I seem to have left my oven on fire. Bye bye! (runs away quick like a bunny).

Why can’t HK change the frame to have a standard accessory rail like the P30/VP9? I like the fact that they still support the USP but come on now, it’s past time.

    • Because they still have to make and sell them to the German Military as the P8, so they might as well keep selling it on the commercial market.

      • Jeff S

Too bad they didn’t sell a civilian version (in the US) with the same type of safety switch (F on top). I loved shooting the P8… wish I could have purchased one to bring back.

Well said my man, well said! I started to post the same comment, and just happened to read yours. I would fire the design/marketing team that allowed a modern day pistol to be made that doesn’t come with a universal picatinny rail, a.k.a. MIL-STD-1913 rail.

As many as they have sold here and elsewhere, they could have offered it that way years ago as a natural progression in the design and sold a boat load more!

  • kipy

My first pistol I bought when I turned 21 was a USP 9SD. Other than the improved trigger this looks like exactly the same gun I have

  • MR

“Reinforced polymer frame”-*snicker* Do they reinforce their pistol frames with the same grocery bags that they apparently use in the German military’s G36’s?

  • Blake

People are complaining that this is pretty much just the USP SD with the match trigger. And that’s exactly what this is. HK fans have been asking for a true “tactical” model for years now to go with their .45s and HK finally answered. That “Tactical” engraves in the slide means a lot to some people.

*patiently waits for the new VP45SK*

  • idahoguy101

Sweet! But I’d prefer a shorter barrel

  • Oh if only I had one. Or could buy one.

  • The Stig

Nothing says tactical like an adjustable target sight.

  • pun&gun

FN set a new bar for “tactical” models, imo. Threaded barrels, suppressor sights, and pre-milled slides with red dot mounting in mind are kind of necessary for the genre now.

  • Dragonheart

If it has the same crappy trigger as my HK P30L I will pass.

  • santi

Just remake the HK P7 m13/M8/m10. That’s all I want. Hell, make a polymer version of it! That will still keep the collector value up of the original steel framed versions and give new consumers a lighter pistol for carry. Hell-x2, I don’t need the fluted shell ejection system if that cuts even more cost in labor. I know I am not the only one who wishes this.

  • Doom

Using a suppressor on a gun designed for a suppressor can void the warranty? wow, that is pathetic.
