This year the first weekend of May holds more than just Derby Day, it includes two days of free firearms instruction courtesy of Bass Pro. Bass Pro has been in business since 1971 and has more than 70 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, and with that kind of nationwide coverage odds are a store near you will be offering the classes listed below. Classes cover everything from handgun basics to optics, and for those debating whether to attend, there’s some additional incentive in the form of a gun giveaway. A Savage Arms 64 Black .22 LR and Caldwell shooting rest will be given to two winners, and not overall, that’s two winners at each location. 2:30 p.m. – Long Range Shooting: Guns and Optics for the 1,000-Yard Shot.

4:30 p.m. – Optics and Accessories for Your Modern Sporting Rifle.
On Friday, May 1, the first 25 people who attend seminars at 6:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. will receive a free tumbler with the Bass Pro Shops logo. In addition, seminar attendees have a chance to win a $25 Bass Pro Shops gift card, with one lucky winner being named at each advertised seminar held May 1-2.
