Team Fortress 2 Syringe Gun A Reality

Capture

Never one to let a good slingshot or related idea go, JoergSprave has tacked a question I never though to answer: “Can you really create a syringe gun.” Given his level of ingenuity, the unsurprising answer is, “yes” although with some caveats. Range is limited, reload time is long, but the awesome factor outweighs both.

You just can’t go wrong with this marvellous powerlifter! The Slingshot channel is awesome!

    • Patrick R.

He never ceases to amaze me! In the absence of firearms he has found a pretty cool hobby!

      • iksnilol

He has firearms, he’s a collector IIRC. It is just that he likes slingshots a lot.

      • Tassiebush

I think his slingshot cannon is one of my all time favorites!

    • Riot

Great we have a david the size of goliath

  • Plumbiphilious

Now that this exists, TFB will need to go get OSHA Bloodborne Diseases training.

    That, and more hats.

    • Patrick R.

Already ahead of the game there! Now to acquire said hats.

You should start watching Animal planet more. You can sedate animals from a distance with an air rifle

  • nobody

Should have tried measuring the velocity to see if it’s close to the in game one, as it only fires the syringes at 62.5 FPS (1000 in game units per second, 1 in game unit = 1/16 of a foot).

  • Nicks87

I love that zombie shirt he’s wearing.

  • Kitsuneki

    Love this guy’s accent

  • Grindstone50k

“And now zee orange is properly bleeding…. muhahahaha.”

  • Muri

That laughter never fails to conjure a broad grin on my face!

I’ve said it before – I want to party with that dude, except….
    1: I’m terrified of shots
2: it looks like he used a Luer lock syringe, probably why the needle separated in the orange
3: He should try different gauges of needles, just for the hell of it
4: NOBODY SHOW HIM HOW THEY DO INTEROSSEOUS IVs
    5: I’m terrified of shots

  • Southpaw89

This gives a whole new meaning to the term “Shooting up”.

I think what he needs to do is rig the block that accelerates the syringe so that pushes against the body, not the plunger, then mount some weight on the plunger (attach some lead or something) so that it has enough momentum that when the syringe hits it’s target, the plunger keeps going and injects the contents.

I’m glad he’s a Good Guy, ‘cuz he can be SCARY–he’d make an AWESOME Mad Scientist villain! He is also quite the accomplished wood-worker; his devices are extremely well made
