Correction that was a T900 walking with the KORD machinegun in the 1st video. Easy to get the two confused though!

  • noob

    how is this even possible?

Low weight, very effective muzzle brake, high velocity of internal components + Russia

    • MPWS

Spring loaded cradle imposed between gun body and shooter.

  • MPWS

As LV finds out, the Kord HMG is made shoot-able from shoulder by existence of integrated cradle. Similar ideas were implemented by FN in form of separate shock absorbing cradle for M240. This is relatively simple solution which is often overlooked.

I love how American movies and video games like to fantasise about robots or men in exo skeletons wielding MGs and they Russians are just doing it with their heavy calibre pieces.

    • Cal.Bar

Yes, but from the video, it is OBVIOUS that he is hitting NOTHING! (and makes himself a huge target.) However, a robot or other remotely controlled vehicle running that weapon would actually be able to target and shoot that (and other MG’s) very well.

      • Martin M

Not only is he hitting nothing, but he’s only firing single shots until the last second when he fires two (and almost looses it).

Forward ejecting like a FN2000 and wire started like a lawn mower. Now where is my full auto M107A2 with drum mag?

  • Vitor Roma

And to think that the americans are stuck with the M2 for almost a hundred years. I mean, it is a good, solid design, but time to come up with something better.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Think the Russian take the Terminator movies too seriously.

    of course..
