Magpul just debuted their new polymer Hunter X-22 stock for the Ruger 10/22. It fits standard 10/22s with either pencil or bull barrels. Their new stock features a more ergonomic grip, multiple sling points, M-LOK slots for accessories and an adjustable comb height and length of pull. It will come in black, flat dark earth, stealth gray or OD green. It’s made in the USA and will retail for $139.95, it’s expected to be available sometime this summer.

The Magpul Hunter X-22 chassis is an ergonomic, full-featured stock for the ubiquitous Ruger 10/22 rifle. Made from high quality reinforced polymer, the Hunter X-22 features an ergonomic grip, adjustable length of pull and comb height to fit a wide variety of shooters, multiple sling mounting options, a non-slip rubber butt pad, and M-LOK slots for accessory attachment. The Hunter X-22 fits standard Ruger 10/22 pattern rifles with no gunsmithing, and a reversible barrel tray ensures proper fit with factory pencil profile as well as heavy bull barrels.

Made in U.S.A.

Uhm… I prefer the look of the Hogue stock offered on the 10-22 Tactical… but maybe it’s not tacticool enough, ninja squirrels are getting tougher.

    • NotoriousAPP

Length of pull too short and comb not high enough on Hogue stock. Otherwise, it’s a nice stock, I’ve used it for many years.

No sling swivel in the front?

    • JumpIf NotZero

It’s MLOK, add whatever you want. QD slings far superior, no stud needed. A lot of bipods are pic rail, no sling stud needed.

      • iksnilol

What about us who use slings as shooting aids? We sorta need sling studs for our slings.

            Then we are okay.

FYI Midwest industries also makes one. They’re both rock solid. I’ve got a bipod on my MI and a sling on the Magpul on a different rifle….

        • Mystick

Many bipods have sling studs built-in…

  • Plumbiphilious

Does the barrel free float? If not, they sort of dropped the ball if they were going to bother to make it accept bull barrels as well.

    This is great news!
Would be great to see a takedown version some day, but I don’t want to sound insatiable.
Magpul has already made 2015 a memorable year for firearm enthusiasts.

    • JumpIf NotZero

The magpul Glock mags are pretty much the reason that for at least the remainder of 2015 I’m shooting a custom 17 now.

I talked with them at SHOT and they’re killing it right now. The one thing I don’t know is coming but really want is their Hunter chassis for Tikka.

“I talked with them at SHOT and they’re killing it right now” –
what do you mean by this? Please rephrase, I can’t understand.

        • JumpIf NotZero

I can’t really elaborate. I don’t have (much) knowledge of what’s coning, but surfice to say, they’re killing it right now with design and new products. They see the drought coming this year and seemingly have no plans to take even a slight hit.

Take it however you want, but if I worked for like 10 different companies right now, I’d be terrified magpul was coming for me next, because they are.

  • JumpIf NotZero

    Goodbye Hogue.

  • iksnilol

Do they plan on making a similar stock for other guns? Would be nice for the Marlin 60/795 rifles.

    • G0rdon_Fr33man

      Mossberg MVP pls.

  • nova3930

I know that more upright grip angle is supposed to be better for precision but I’ve never been able to warm up to it. It always feels unwieldy.

  • Gabriel

That is pretty ugly. Why would they not make one that takes the MOE grip and stock? Magpul makes great stuff but I don’t understand this one…

  • ProdigalSon

Kind of a fan of the angularity of it. It’s not a smooth, refined stock. It’s a little more in your face, kind of a modern look. I like it.

  • vereor_non_magnus_nocens_lupus

Woukd love this stock in OD with a TacSol setup. Light and adjustable. Would be the bees knees.

Why is it still difficult to find .22 ammo at a reasonable price?
