Bugbite explained his username to me. He contracted West Nile Virus from a mosquito bite and the virus has left him in a wheel chair! He sounds to me like someone who has not let the illness and subsequent disability get him down!

Looks pretty cool. I’m anxious for the new PWS Enhanced Glock slide to come out for Gen 4’s too…

I don’t understand porting on a pistol in .45 acp,.45 acp doesn’t have much recoil to begin with.

    • Dracon1201

Neither does 9mm, but it still helps keep you on target better.

      • Alucard

Maybe for 9mm,but .45 acp is sub-sonic and doesn’t really have any excess gas or powder to make use of the porting.

        • Dracon1201

Any gas that can be used, will be used. Besides, doesn’t it look awesome? Hehehehe

It looks lame. Ports that close to the chamber = could just as well have a 1″ barrel.
The people using stuff like this better suffer from chronic arthritis or serious carpal tunnel, because there is no reason to have such ports on such a gun.

          • bugbite

I don’t think the ports compromise the gun’s barrel length as much as you think. The bullet is still being turned by the rifling as it travels past the ports. As for the muzzle velocity, I run Bufflao Bore and Underwood .45 Super through it. They chrono at average of 1100. In terms of appearance, it’s my duty to inform you that you’re completely off the mark as it has been officially deemed as looking totally neat-o.

Because it looks cool, which is the reason most of us really buy so many guns in the first place. Some people mount crazy-looking muzzle brakes and compensators, some get porting, some get passages from 50 Shades of Grey scrimshawed on their ivory revolver grips.

Everyone goes on about Glock “Perfection”, then they do this crap. Lol. Not so perfect after all?

    • bugbite

In my 20 plus years of Glock ownership, I don’t recall hearing a single fellow owner mention Glock perfection. It was marketing term used by the manufacture to tout the gun’s design efficiency and reliability. As for modifications, I don’t do them to try and attain perfection. I change things to augment different characteristics; some form, some function, some both. It’s a fun hobby. I might wince at Brony Barrett, but on a certain level, I get it. It’s cool. To each their own.

I agree, I love to customize my guns, even if the customizing doesnt enhance the accuracy or reliability. It’s just another way of saying “There are many like it, but this one is mine.”

  • Curious George

Does it shoot as good as it look?

  • bugbite

Yes! It shoots like a dream. When shooting standard .45 ACP, you feel a noticable reduction in recoil. With the the stronger spring and .45 Super, it has the recoil of standard .45. I really like the way the trigger feels too. The surface area is wide and smooth and with less travel, it feels more responsive. That’s probably ten times more info than you wanted, but I appreciate your interest!
