Pro2AGuy sent us a photo of what he considers to be the perfect CCW …

I took me a bit of time to find that “perfect” CCW, but I settled on the Glock 26. Fierce competition out there in this category to be sure as it seems like vendors can’t keep up with demand relative to this segment of the gun industry…The 26 just offers the best of all variables that I look for in my EDC piece (it’s all subjective so YMMV) and the fact that I can throw a 33 round OEM mag in the car for that “rainy day” might be the final selling point.

Thanks Pro2AGuy

Sub compact with no grip zone?

    • You just have to get extended mags

      • iksnilol

But if you carry it with extended mags why not just get one with a longer grip?

        Playing devils advocate is all.

        • Devil’s Advocate

Just because you want more rounds in the magazine, doesnt mean you want a longer barrel and slide.

        • The extended mag allows 2 more rounds (total of 12) and a place for your pinky. That’s a huge benefit when you figure its maybe 1/2″ bigger only on one side of the grip. Also, like the other guy said, it’s an overall more compact package for concealed carry. I had a Glock 19 and purchased my Glock 26 and I sold the 19 because the 26 was just better to conceal. It’s not pocket pistol size but its definitely small on the waist.

    • Like mine

The G26 is my absolute favorite pistol. If I could only own one handgun, for whatever reason, it would be the 26. I even prefer it over the ubiquitous Model 19.

    • Agreed, I did the same. I chose the 26 and sold my 19.

  • kingghidorah

My 26 is even more perfect. I added a Cominolli safety and a clipdraw. Total badass.

    • PatrickHenry1789

NO safety is probably the only reason I don’t own a Glock right now.

The safety is between your ears

Mine is right at my thumb on my SR9C. I can have it off by the time I get it out of my holster. It’s just a little extra piece of mind for me. it’s all a matter of personal preference and that is the way I prefer it.

Maybe perfect except in the looks department. It, and all other Glocks, are butt ugly. I know, I know – looks ain’t everything, but if you cannot stand to look at it, would you be proud to carry it? Please forgive me for being so shallow, uninformed, superficial, judgmental, but right. I think the Springfield Armory 1911 9mm EMP (or the Kimber equivalent) is the best thing since sliced bread, except for its weight (27oz. empty). It is not superior to the Glocks in every department, but it sure looks better and has a history to match its looks. I’m proud to carry one.

    • tomrkba

I love my EMP but its height and length is almost identical to the Glock 19.

  • big_pErm

Couldn’t agree more, for whatever reason I am more accurate with the 26 than the 19. Perfect companion to my G17

    • uisconfruzed

It’s the same for me, I’m noticeably more accurate with my 27 vs my 23.
For defense I’ll take it any day over my; Anaconda, Redhawk 44, Sig P229, 1911 Commander, S&W 357, and I can’t stand the trigger on the S&W striker pistols.

I’ve never understood why some people think some guns are “ugly.” The front sight is the only part that really needs a close look.

    • Don Ward

Well the Glock does have all the aesthetics of a replacement remote control that you bought at Radio Shack. Sometimes being cheap, reliable and holding lots of bullets is all you need.

It’s like anything. An ugly car still gets you to work and back. An ugly watch still tells time. But some people just want a Ferrari or a Rolex.

    • Grindstone50k

Beauty, eye, beholder, that sort of thing.

      • uisconfruzed

        The beauty is the performance

    • uisconfruzed

My G27 is plastic, square and black.
It goes bang every time, it fits and point shoots great for me, I’m very accurate with it.= All go and no show, works for me.

  • Tenacious221

To this person, glock not only got it right, but got it right in completely bone stock form.

    Amazing 🙂

  • uisconfruzed

My 27 has been my favorite, I got it when they first came out many moons ago.

Still a bit large for IWB carry and forget ankle holsters, still I would (and did) buy the .40 SW 27 along with a 9mm replacement barrel. Vola a two caliber gun. Still the Kahr P9 more often finds itself on my belt than the Glock…
