Exile Machine Revolver Conversion Kits for the AR-15

revolver ar-15

A revolving rifle conversion kit for the AR-15 is now being shown by Exile Machine. The kit appears to use a J-frame pistol grip and S&W cylinder. According to the company, the kits are available in everything from 22 WMR to 500 S&W Magnum. The MSRP is listed as $389.75.

The company states the “EASY DO-IT-YOURSELF HOME CONVERSION REQUIRES ONLY FLAT BLADE SCREWDRIVER, TIG WELDER, DRILL PRESS AND 5-AXIS CNC MACHINE.”

Of course, the whole thing is an exercise in fantastical thinking and Photoshop manipulation. Sure, it may be a fun little marketing gimmick, but at a time when everything has to be “tactical” for “tier 1 operators to dominate the battlespace,” maybe fun is what we could use more of.

That’s my definitions of “easily convertible”! LOL

  • Matt

I don’t see why you need a forward assist here.

    • dg1013

      Thats the empty shell ejector

      • Matt

        maybe an empty shell “grabber”

        • Andrew Hobby

PFFF… you guys are SUCH NOOBS.

This is the Taco Assist Device – press it and a delicious taco gets delivered to your location.

          • FightFireJay

            I love T.A.D!

      • go4it

        Nope. It’s a JATO mini-rocket assist …..

    • RRAMAGE

forward assist just as useful on this rifle as normal AR15

  • Mr.T

No conversion in sight as there is no spec lower or upper ,just a revolver rifle.

    • Forest C. Adcock

no, they’re converting your dollars into their dollars.

  • Yellow Devil

  • M.M.D.C.

    California compliant!

    Someone had to say it.

    • Rob

If it’d get me out of having to use a bullet button and allow the use of speed loaders, I’d be all over this. Somebody make this happen!

  • Ethan

    From the website:

“YES THIS PRODUCT IS FICTIONAL BUT WHILE YOU’RE HERE PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR 15,000+ OTHER REAL PRODUCTS AT INSANELY LOW PRICES. WE’VE BEEN IN BUSINESS SINCE 2009 AND HAVE THOUSANDS OF SATISFIED CUSTOMERS. WE WOULD LIKE FOR YOU TO BE ONE OF THEM.”

Brilliant. It got me to look around their site.

    • FightFireJay

Your click bait is bad and you should feel bad.

Okay, you got me for about 15 seconds.

      • Ethan

Lol.. I totally saw Zoidberg saying that.

  • Christopher Armour

    They should’ve waited for April.

  • confused

because everyone has a 5-axis CNC machine at home right?

    • B

Did you see the joke? As it went over your head, I mean.

    • go4it

I have a 7-axis CNC machine! NBC’s Brian Williams used it to make a titanium case for his iPhone 8 S …….. (when his next helicopter is shot down. Again. And again ….. )

  • Guest

april first came early this year??

  • Darren Hruska

Even if this was an actual thing, cylinder gaps and fleshy, human forearms don’t go well together. 😡
Well, at least revolving rifles look pretty damn cool, though.

  • Rob

Where’s the lever action variant or the break action side by side?

    • marathag

I’m waiting for the Falling Block version, myself

  • John Daniels

You guys get one day a year to post this kind of thing, and it’s not April yet. Stay on task. lol

  • I’d love one in .44 Mag… Shame it’s fake.

  • lurpy

The website also lists Phased Plasma Rifles in their products section, including CA- and NY-legal variants. Along with an Alien Shoulder Thing That Goes Up, described as: “ITAR restricted, not for export. USED, in good condition. Pulled from alien wreckage. Still functions. Includes original power supply and hoses/cabling. No instruction manual available. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. Purchaser assumes all risks of use.”

    • Y-man

Please hook me up. I need a power pack for my Mobile Infantry Powered Armor Suit!

      These guys may have one…

    • Mystick

      No “Sharp Sticks”?

      …What a horrible selection!

  • Joel Thompson

Call me crazy, but I think it looks kinda fun. Sure it serves no practical purpose, but make it a flat-top with an adjustable stock, and i think I’d be rather fun rifle.

  • nbs

Fictional maybe, but this concept looks like it might be legal in the UK?

    • Porty1119

To be UK-legal, it would need to be manually-operated. There’s really no point in going to this length, when conventional AR-15s and AR-10s built as straight-pull rifles are so popular and readily available.

      • nbs

Yup, I know. But it would avoid having to charge the bolt every time to load a new round. Assuming it wasn’t a semi auto mechanism (which would seem like over complicating things).

      • marathag

Ah, that’s why the Forward assist is there: UK market to advance the cylinder

  • dan citizen

This is not new… According to the media, these sort of semi automatic high capacity revolvers are used in crime every day.

    • go4it

The Demonic-rats want to ban every model holding 1 round and more …. ☺️

  • spotr

This is a nice attention grabbing marketing photo-shop, but a close “real” variation of this does exist. The Rossi Circuit Judge.

    • Will P.

Revolver rifles have been around a lot longer than the Circuit Judge. Lol

    • MichaelZWilliamson

Sure, but we want one that’s actually worth having.

      • MichaelZWilliamson

And if you believe .410 revolvers are any use for anything, I have a bridge I’d like to talk to you about.

        • Zebra Dun

          I don’t want a bridge, but, A .410 is good for squirrels.

          • MichaelZWilliamson

Sure, but it’s less good with the rifling. So if you get the .410 only option, not bad. Just don’t confuse it with a .45 Colt.

  • wetcorps

Looking at the picture I almost believed it, because that wouldn’t be the weirdest AR variant. But the fact it wasn’t a standalone upper mate it a bit less credible.

  • john

I don’t know what the big joke is, I just put $500 down on one these babies with a guy who said he was the owner over the phone. Sure they need all your credit card info, DOB, address and social security number but when these roll off the assembly lines in 18 months, I’ll be the one laughing!

    • Y-man

Did the fellow also mention that he is an African Prince, son of a late head of state who wants to share the hidden loot of his country, and you only need to send a “processing fee”?

      Haha!

  • El Duderino

    Don’t give Taurus any ideas!

    • Spidouz

      Too late…

    • Kivaari

Too bad, Taurus has an inability to make anything of quality. The Taurus .45-.410 carbine is clever, but cheaply made. I stopped looking at them when I saw the first one. The cheap plastic sights are SO cheap. The stock is so ugly. It’s a Taurus, do I need to say anything more?

  • JD

    An assault revolver. Why?

  • Gordon J Davis Jr

    500 S&W AR15 sounds like a good time.

  • schizuki

Kel-Tec will be inspired to create a complete working version with an MSRP of $299 and a production run of ten per month, available on Gunbroker for $600.

Ruger will copy Kel-Tec’s design (adding a proprietary flash hider) and sell it for $399. The first shipment will be recalled 35 seconds after the first rifle is placed on a gun store rack.

  • Mystick

I knew this had to be a joke.

  • iksnilol

Could work with a standard lower if the cylinder was higher up. Shoot from the 6 o clock position should make the rest of the cylinder be up where the carry handle is and not bother the lower.

  • EricTheRed79

How about an AR15 that accepts desert eagle magazines and just have a .50AE or a .44 magnum.

  • Hrachya H.

    Awesome ! :)))

  • Chad Underdonk

Makes it more lethal…statistically more people are killed by revolvers!

  • ensitue

Your click bait is bad and you should feel bad.

  • Aren’t these the folks that had another joke product a few years ago? I can’t remember what…. These are the bolt action Glock dudes!!!! lol.

  • BryanS

I have access to all of that equipment. Well, its only a 4 axis, but hey, better than most here. Not seeing why you need the tig or the screwdriver.

  • mikewest007

I’ll take two and a saw.

    • Michel_T

The last (and only two) I’ve seen for sale were stupid expensive… like $10,000…

  • go4it

Not a forward assist! That’s the JATO pack!!!!

  • MichaelZWilliamson

    Anyone else remember Birdman industries?

  • Zebra Dun

The old time revolver rifles had one big flaw.
The flash of powder from the cylinder gap would always burn the supporting arm.
These had to be designed to block that burn.

    • Kivaari

Taurus actually did an OK job by having a flash guard. In the ancient cap and ball revolving rifles, the idea of a flash over could send bullets alongside the barrel, hitting the users arm and hand.

  • Sam Pensive

hey – i’m saving up for another CNC machine right now.
thing looks like it came aboard with some alien.

  • LiberalsRCommies

I thought of this a while back as a trivia answer to the question, “Who makes the most reliable AR? Obviously an AR with a revolving cylinder would be considering it has no gas system or bolt carrier to screw up. Funny how this evolved. Im sure there are many who’ve thought of this as an answer to that question.
