The Chick-Fil-AK

My friend Adolfo moved to England a while back, leaving all of his guns here to waste away. Well, he decided to come back and visit and he volunteered to sacrifice a Century Polish Tantal in the name of scientific testing.

I converted the gun to full-auto, and that was a bear. The Tantal’s trigger group is very different than a regular AKM’s, so I had to grind the semi auto disconnector’s hook off, but still use it in the FCG as a spacer/retainer. Also had to remove some of the hammer’s auto-sear engagement surface so it would trip, and then properly time the gun. I also managed to fit and use the rate reducer of an AKM! The result was then full auto only rather than select fire. That said, we had some plans for the gun involving sand, mud, etc. to test that legendary AK reliability and I really was interested to see what the gun could take.

We stopped at a Chick-Fil-A along the way to the shooting range, and thus the Chick-Fil-AK was born. The following is some of the hooliganism that ensued.

There you have it. The super-slow cyclic rate after the mud was awesome and as stated, this gun will return.

If there is something you would like to see done to this gun in the future, let us know in the comments and we will make it happen!
