Blackhawk Diversion Rolling Load Out Bag

If you’re not familiar with the story behind the founding of Blackhawk, you’re missing out on a key component of the company’s drive and dedication to quality and superior performance. A Navy SEAL started the company after an experience where his ruck broke and crashed to the ground right as he was navigating a mine field; he swore he’d make sure gear was properly created if he survived, and when he did, indeed, survive, he started Blackhawk.

Among their new products for 2015 is the Diversion Rolling Load Out Bag, a bag capable of carrying up to 200 pounds with an ingeniously disguised compartment for toting a rifle along with the rest of your gear. I took a look at Blackhawk’s new products along with a couple of the guys here at TFB and we agreed this bag is not only fantastic for hauling assorted gear around but could also double as a way to conceal a body; it’s not only that big, it’s that tough. The fact that a rifle can be subtly tucked into the back compartment is just the icing on the load out bag.

You aren’t kidding about a body: when my daughter was a toddler she’d hide in my load-out bag and go for “rides:” she’s lucky she didn’t wind up in the Third World. I’m certainly glad I’m staying closer to home these days; I can’t imagine the baggage charges you could rack up with bags these size.

When Blackhawk (sorry, the ! is just hokey) was starting out, BlackhawkChick I guess, you could actually call up and get Mike on the phone, real helpful guy.

Both product links take you to Amazon for “Uncle Mike’s”. No mention of Blackhawk, and both have the same review of 1 star saying that it is NOT well made and fell apart, which is the opposite of what this article describes. Thoughts?

Seriously? Over $400 for a soft sided bag?

  • Yea that’s what I found out as well. Not in my department though so I didn’t know about it.
