Magpul Hunter 700 Stock Chassis

Magpul 703

Magpul is branching out more into precision rifles. Now they are coming out with a stock chassis for Remington 700 short action rifles. The stock is very similar to their SGA shotgun stock. It looks like it uses the same length of pull spacers and cheek risers.

It is unclear what magazine they will be using or the price of the stock but I am sure we will find out at SHOT SHOW 2015 next week.

You can see the stock below and it appears that it is a 3D printed prototype.

The magazines are new PMAG AC single-stack magazines holding 5 rounds of 308 and are compatible with AICS mags.

    • Nicholas Chen

      Sweet. Thanks for the info.

    • Anonymoose

So does that mean they’ll work with real Arctic Warfares/AXs? Good news for those willing to spend 5 grand on a rifle but not $90+ per mag, I guess.

    • Andrew Duffey

That’s if you buy the magazine conversion. Other wise it uses the metal plate door that should already be on your Rem 700. Don’t remember the exact cost but I think the kit will ne around $30.

If these will come to other bolt guns in the future, maybe. No thanks to anything remington outdoor company.

    • How phenomenal would this be on a Mossberg MVP, right? Magpul stock while running Magpul mags. *fanboy*

    • MountainKelly

yeah they’ve been having some issues… I’d buy a used R700 in a heartbeat but I’m staying away from new production until they get their crap together

My gun dealer gets a pained expression at the idea of stocking Remingtons at the moment. Apparently a lot of 700 have had chambers which weren’t concentric to the bore and Remington’s warranty response has been to ream a new larger chamber.

I would love this for some Savage or something like the Ruger American. Would be a great upgrade.

    • I agree, hopefully they will make these for Savage rifles

no plans for a Weatherby/Howa system I imagine? Tragic!

  • kingghidorah

Easily done. Just put a magpul sticker on your archangel.

  • Nicholas Chen

Wow only $250? Not bad considering how much material there is. Just a SGA stock is $110. A PRS stock is about the same price as this 700 stock chassis.

Well, the texture in the advert does look as a 3D printed piece.
They could have shot the advert when they had only that proto while they were setting up the production.

This video by Magpul just sticks in my craw as a native Washingtonian and a hunter.

I love how this guy is “hunting” and is violating Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife rules by not wearing at least 400 square inches of blaze orange. Nor is he displaying a Discover Pass in the windshield of his vehicle. And he leaves the deer-filled sage brush country of Yakima to go “hunting” up in the Cascades around Mount Rainier National Park, up a trail that has been walked on by about a dozen hikers. Good luck retrieving the deer you shot form 800 yards away across a steep canyon, boulder strewn canyon, carrying 50 pounds of superfluous gear, a 15-pound rifle at around 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Not that you’ll shoot anything at that time in the afternoon because the deer have long since bedded down for the day. The pull-up two-by-four has literally never been out in the weather until that Also, Caylen doesn’t know how to make scrambled eggs, despite passing himself off as a foodie in that video. Turn down the heat!

pa-lease come out with 300 winmag mags!

  • Don Ward

Let me guess. You have already nailed a two-by-four to the trees in your backyard and are on hold with MagPul. Or do you like being fed drivel by weapons makers?
