Ruger GP100 Match Champion – Adjustable Sights

Ruger-Match-03

Ruger announced the introduction of a new GP100 Match Champion revolver with adjustable sights. This compliments the fixed sight Match Champion the company introduced about a year ago.

The revolver is designed with competition shooting in mind, though I suspect it would make an excellent self-defense gun as well. It is chambered in .357 Magnum and holds six rounds in the cylinder.

Additional specifications:

  • frame: stainless steel
  • barrel length: 4.2″
  • weight (unloaded): 38.0 ounces
  • front sight: green fiber optic
  • rear sight: adjustable white outline
  • stocks: Hogue stippled hardwood
  • MSRP: $929

The guns are already shipping, so you should be able to find one at your local dealer if you are interested in them.

Any word on actual 25 yard group size tests?

Nice looking gun. Nice to know that champions don’t need a lawyer label. I just wish Ruger would finally break into the 7 and 8 shot .357s. At $900, we’re getting a lot closer to the S&W R8/327.

Not a huge revolver fan, but this one is rather good looking. In fact, I want one.

Go for it, I have a regular GP100 and I like it a lot. More so after I got some propper sights for it.

So this one would basically be perfect? It certainly seems useful at least.

If you want an accurate and reliable revolver that wont break the bank I would say this one is a winner.

The adjustable sights on my GP100 were total crap. The front sight was hard to see and the rear sight wouldnt stay zero’d. I ditched them for some meprolight after market sights and Im very pleased with them.

That’d be a great idea. The Redhawk was a nice gun. That was on my list if I ever got into .44mag, but I think I’m done diversifying calibers for now. An 8 shot .357mag Redhawk would be sweet.
