At my request the famous South American gun writer Ronaldo Olive kindly sent me this photo of himself with a PGM Hécate II .50 BMG anti-materiel rifle. This particular rifle is in service with the SpecOps Battalion (Batalhão Tonelero) of Brazil’s Corpo de Fuzileiros Navais (Marine Corps). He had the opportunity to test the rifle for an upcoming article that will be published in the July/August 2015 Edition of Harris Publications’ Special Weapons for Military and Police. The photo was taken by André Olive, his son.

This is the second SpecOps Battalion PGM .50 to be featured on POTD.

It’s been awhile since Ronaldo Olive has been featured on either TFB or FW, and it’s really good to read about him and his articles once again. We should never lose touch with those whom we know and respect — thanks very much, Steve!
