Miculek 1000 yd Offhand Shot With Barret M107 In 2 Secs

JM m107

Last year Ryan Cleckner shot a 1000yd target offhand with a Barret M107. Well Jerry Miculek has taken that shot a step further. He is using Hornady 750gr A-Max bullet over Cleckner’s 661gr FMJ.

Jerry ups the challenge to shooting a 1000 yd target offhand by doing it in as little time as possible. He makes the shot in 2.1 secs.

Keep the awesome vids coming, Jerry 🙂

  • Dan

Now we wait for the “he didn’t actually hit the balloon” guys to show up.

    • Karl

He didn’t actually hit the balloon… But I’m fine with that it’s just for reference and fun. Besides my old man taught me not to argue with a man who can shoot you from a 1000 yards with a 50 off hand 🙂

      • claymore

He didn’t hit the balloon but spalling from the round did so it’s still a hit.

        • JumpIf NotZero

          TIL misses are hits

(edit: before cranky people rant on and on, just jokes!)

          • claymore

Parts of the round broke the balloon it’s a hit

        • Karl

Thats very true, i’ve always been amazed at the secondary damage a big round like a 50 can cause just by hitting inches away from target. What I meant is it wasn’t a dead on hit on the ballon and like anyone who’s ever shot at targets from the prone at 500 yards I’m amazed he was even close to the steel plate let alone hit it. The balloon was just the icing on the cake.

          • claymore

That was still an awesome shot anyway you want to look at it LOL.

        • Blake

A-Max bullets have a polymer tip & fragment pretty well on impact with hard targets. I’d be interested to see if the same trick would work with standard .50BMG ball ammo.

I’m guessing that a 600ish grain FMJ smashing into hardened steel would still produce enough spall to pop the balloon though.

          • claymore

            For sure.

        • Hank Seiter

Yep, being spalled by a .50 caliber round is a hit.

      • Dan

Your old man is very wise!

  • gunslinger

it seems more like 4s. but i think it’s coz it was edited.

  • William Johnson

That man is just not natural…and I am glad he is one of the good guys.

    Magic cyborg from the future.

That doesn’t look like a high magnification scope and the steel plate isn’t that big of a target to pick up at 1000 yards. Unreal. :-0

    • iksnilol

Why would you need a high magnification scope? That is like, 900 meters. A regular 2.5-10x scope should get you so far no problem.

      • Rob

I was relating it to my experience using a 4x scope at 600 yards. The reticle nearly covered the 6moa bull. That target looks to be 2×3 moa. It would be difficult to see with iron sights, and could be mostly obscured by the reticle on a low power scope, unless the reticle is very fine. A small center donut reticle would make it easier to frame the target. Not to even mention the degree of steadiness required! I regularly shoot Highpower and the standing portion is damn hard, and we get a minute per shot.

        • iksnilol

I guess it depends on how fine the reticle is. Though I do prefer chevrons or doughnuts since they don’t cover the target.

There may not be unicorns, but having Jerry Miculek is our age’s mythical creature.

  • JumpIf NotZero

    Parlor trick.

Impressive one, but it’s Jerry Miculek so it must be classified as RAW SKILL THAT CAN NOT BE DEBATED. lol at pole riding.

  • Dr Sick

The US army need to clone him !

  • Hank Seiter

Both. Jerry is amazing across the board with pistols, revolvers, shotguns and rifle. Of course I’m not telling you anything you already didn’t know.
