voodooman sent us a photo of his Glock range bag which allows for a few different combinations of frames and slides. The grip on the G17 frame (pictured with a G17L slide) has been cut down to G19 length. This allows better concealment and the use of G19 magazines. He writes …

5.11 pistol case, Gen3 G17L on a Gen3 G17 stippled and G19 cut lower (with a TLR1s mounted), OEM Gen3 lower and Cerakoted (Sniper Grey) Gen3 G17 upper, two mags (G17/G19).

Sort of a take on the Sig P320 setup which allows for different uppers and lowers.

That’s not ‘two frames, two slides’, it’s ‘two guns, taken apart, in a bag’.

    • Nicks87

You are missing the point entirely… But maybe I’m missing your humor?

  • iksnilol

Two frames + two slides = two guns

Though I do like the idea of having two identical/near-identicaø guns since that makes dual-wielding easier.

    • Michel_T

I like to have more of the same… this way they can share magazines, and ammo…

      🙂

      • iksnilol

Never said it was wrong, just a bit silly to call two guns one gun.

        • Michel_T

Maybe he was trying to fool his wife..

It’s only one firearm, with one accessory frame and one accessory slide/barrel…

            Touche.

All Glocks look the same to me.

    I know. I’m so Glockist.

    • Axel

Well they are all the same. Excluding the g42, there are three sizes: full size, compact, subcompact. And there are different calibers, which may or may not change the sizing a bit. Other than that they are all the same gun.

The 9s, .40s, .380s (excluding the 42), .357s, and .45GAPs are all built on the same 3 frames (full-size, compact, and subcompact) and the 10s and .45ACPs (excluding the 36) are built on another 2 frames (fuller-size and kinda-sorta-supposed-to-be-sub-compact).

What about generations? I always hear that listed too and my brain wants to explode.

          • TomcatTCH

Gen4 complete slide won’t run on a Gen3 frame. I don’t know about the other way around.

    • gunslinger

remember, glock pantented the rectangle, square and box, so yeah…

  • Axel

I wish companies would offer smaller frames while keeping the same barrel length. The only two dimensions that matter with concealment is the grip length, and the width.

I’d like to stick a Match Elite slide on a P220 Compact. 😀
Far too many people (and companies) think that snub-nosed automatics are a good idea for concealed carry, when going below 4″ really only helps when you’re using a horizontal shoulder holster.

or if you have to drive or otherwise sit a lot

    2 guns, 1 bag?

    • DIR911911 .

would have been a better title on multiple levels
