Purple SIG P238

The SIG SAUER P238 has been a very popular pistol, and the company has shown a willingness to release special editions and limited runs of variants. One of those variants is the P238 PSP.

For this pistol, SIG went with a purple PVD (physical vapor deposition) finish on the slide with Rainbow Ti finished safety and slide stop levers. The frame, hammer and trigger are all a black nitride finish. The grips are purple Pearlite similar to the ones on the company’s Black Pearl pistol.

SIGLITE night sights are standard. The pistol ships with a single 6-round magazine. The MSRP is $779, though I have seen them selling for less than $700 online.

This is news? There are a lot of purple handguns on the market.

How much did Sig pay for this blog post?

Y’all seem to hate this, but I’ll probably show my wife. We just got out of California, and she wants a new carry gun. She hates her Kel-Tec P32 because it’s too small and jumpy. It doesn’t kick hard, but she says it feels like it’s going to jump out of her hand. I’m one of those people who thinks it’s condescending to make mountains of “women’s” guns that are just pink, but apparently *somebody* is buying them or the companies would stop. My wife hates pink with a burning passion but loves purple and red/scarlet/crimson.

Also, Palmetto State Armory has this version of the P238 online for $610.

Not a fan of colors on any firearm. It’s asinine that toy guns are more realistic looking than the real thing that’s been “colorized”. Black, Stainless, Camo only for me.
