I like shooting across flat land, but for those of you who live near elevation changes more than a small hill may find TheLoadoutRoom’s How-To on high-angle shooting a treat. Its an easy read, but requires some basic knowledge of trigonometry to understand.

For those mathematically challenged, the writer speaks to the “45 degree” rule which states that if you aim at a target 45 degrees up or down, aim and shoot like you would 70 percent of the distance to the target. For example, if you shoot a target at 1000 yards, aim like it would only be 700 in terms of drop.
