POTD: Francophile (Dog and Gun #1)

Jeff sent us this photo of his Papillon (a French breed) and his French Berthier rifle. The Berthier was chambered in the 8mm Lebel, the world’s first smokeless cartridge, and introduced in 1890. It remained in service for over 50 years and a few were still in use during the 1980s with the French Compagnies Républicaines de Sécurité (riot control and reserve police).
