Daniel Defense Makes the Inc. 500|5000 List for the Third Consecutive Year

Daniel Defense

Daniel Defense was recognized by Inc. magazine as one of the fastest growing, privately-owned companies in the US. A ranking of #1568 may not seem impressive on first glance, but considering there were approximately 28,000,000 small businesses in the US during 2013, it becomes obvious that the Georgia-based gun maker is part of the top performers.

From Daniel Defense:

Daniel Defense, engineering and manufacturing the world’s finest weapons systems, precision rail systems and accessories, has been ranked Number 1568 by Inc. magazine on its 33rd annual Inc. 500/5000.

The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent entrepreneurs.  Daniel Defense, a Georgia-based company and leader in the firearms community, is honored to be included again for 2014.  Companies such as Yelp, Pandora, Timberland, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, LinkedIn, Zillow, and many other well-known names gained early exposure as members of the Inc. 500|5000.

“Daniel Defense has again been recognized by Inc. 500|5000 as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States,” said Marty Daniel, President and CEO of Daniel Defense.  “This is the third consecutive year we have been recognized with this prestigious distinction.   I am particularly proud that we achieved this goal while installing the infrastructure for long term growth and because it is more difficult to grow at this pace as a mid-size company.   Even more exciting than reaching this goal, is that now we have the infrastructure in place in our design, prototyping, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing, quality, MRP, accounting, marketing and sales.  We are ready to execute our 5, 10 and 20 year growth plans.”

About Daniel Defense

President and CEO, Marty Daniel founded Daniel Defense at the turn of the 21st century. From its humble beginnings as a start-up company, creating rails and accessories for the AR-15 platform in small batches, Daniel Defense has grown exponentially over the last decade, and is now known for its premium line of rifles and firearms accessories. Now with two locations and a combined 137,000 square feet of available manufacturing space, Daniel Defense looks forward to continued growth, as well as the opportunity to better serve their customers.

Methodology

The 2014 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2010 to 2013. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2010. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2013. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2010 is $100,000; the minimum for 2013 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at http://www.inc.com/5000.

Still waiting for DD to release the mk12 barrel by itself or complete mk12 upper with the new keymod hand guard. I know it’s not a true mk12 (already have mod 0 and mod 1 uppers) but still interested.

I would no longer call Daniel Defense a “small business”, since they manufacture the aluminum rail system for all of Britain’s SA-80 rifles now.

  • big daddy

They would have made more money if they hadn’t changed their rifles by adding those ugly strange looking stocks and pistol grips. I have a DDM4V5 before they changed them and added Magpul stuff, the rifle is great, perfect. It shoots much better than my abilities.

I guess this will be mentioned in their next 3000 ads

Can’t blame them, that’s something to be proud of as a business.
