Gunfighter University – Online Firearms Coaching

Capture 2

Online Universities are drastically changing the higher-education landscape by making academics more accessible through online portals. Online classes are typically go-at-your-own pace with significant financial savings. The same idea has now been applied to firearms.

John “Shrek” Mcgee has created Gunfighter University, which portends to offer assistance to those who may not have the means, time, or will to attend in-person classes. “Basic” packages with analysis and comments for three videos start at $39.99. More advanced packages are also available.

FAQ from Gunfirghter University below:

My take? Neat concept. I would be curious to see how it would work and the feedback that one receives.

Online may work for academia but firearm use that require physical practical application and numerous continuous hours of tedious repetition, hell no.

“You can simulate a fire arm with your finger and we’ll still coach you!”

Of course you will. This reminds me of the Art Institute and similar “colleges” that’ll pass anyone that can pay.

The S.O.B. is a great guy and great instructor but online instruction seems things could get weird.

Portend means to act as a warning or omen.

It still works given what he is saying he is offering. “Which pretends to offer” would be fitting as well.

I’m going to hop on the “poor idea” boat. If I’m reading this right, you basically record three videos of yourself shooting/handling firearms, pay them $40, and they analyze and comment on your technique? I’m sure this may be able to help with a few things like stance and how to hold a firearm, but just about anyone can get help with this by just going to the range and asking an RO/another shooter. The most important things can’t be identified and explained online, you need to physically be taught.

I’d probably be more on board with this if it wasn’t called “Gunfighter University”. Could this help with basic handling skills? Sure. Are you going to become a “gunfighter” through this? Hell no.
