3HGR sling torture test

3HGR sling

Last year we blogged about the Finnish 3HGR tree sling.

Well, the guys in Finland sent us a video of their torture test. There were some concerns, from some of our readers, about the durability of the 3HGR since the attachment points were made of polymer. Check out their torture test and let it assuage any doubt.

Can we get the same test done on concrete?

    • GUNxSPECTRE

      But concrete is hard though.

But Magpul has several vids about running over their PMags on concrete. But that’s not fair, since those mags have mag demons in them.

The good news is if you get run over by construction equipment while carrying the 3HGR sling, your next of kin will be able to use it when they go hunting!

That’ll certainly make it easier for them to cope with your loss.

Nice video, Lauri… you should give the music a credit though! (good choice)

Seriously, I’ve been using a 3HGR sling myself for the last year, and it’s still as sound as the moment it came out of the packet, and looks almost as good too.

The unique tree-support function is neat, but the basic sling is excellent in its own right, and being able to secure the sling so it can’t slip off your shoulder using the chest strap is a huge plus. The buckles the chest strap attaches to are a great design too -very quick and quiet in operation but totally secure.

I’ve not got any commercial connection with this product, but I did have the pleasure of meeting up with Lauri for a beer at IWA this year, so I can’t claim to be 100% objective. (It’s still a great sling, though.)

I want to see it used as a tow strap. That would tell me more than running over it with pneumatic tires.

Hi! There will be a more real life sequel as soon as I get some free time on my hands – It’ll be published on our YouTube channel. Tow strap sounds like a good idea!

The basic idea of the first video was to demonstrate that it won’t break as easy as some would suspect.

I have one of these on my Rem 700 and love it. Stellar little sling!
