Custom Engraved AR-15 Lowers from Shadow Ops Armory

Shadow Ops Armory is now offering completely customized AR-15 lower receivers including serial numbers, roll marks, selector markings, and NFA information. Additional options include colors (Cerakote), laser engraving, deep etching, etc.

Shadow Ops Armory estimates turn-around 120 days and guarantees that if you do not get your receiver within 160 days, they will include a matching forged upper. (Lead times take awhile since the manufacturer has to apply to the ATF for an exception on markings).

Individual receivers are priced at $250. You can order them directly from Shadow Ops Armory on their website. Just a taste of client preferences below.

Read the reviews on their Facebook page before buying anything. My replacement billet lower took 11 months and is out of spec. The buffer retainer is set too far in towards the receiver extension preventing the buffer from contacting the BCG allowing it to smack the detent till it breaks. It was my second lower from them since they got my original order wrong. They make a lot of promises and don’t deliver.

There are people who ordered a lower from them early 2013 who still have not gotten their lower. They sent me mine without the markings I requested, but I was just glad to be done with them. Later tried to take advantage of the “deal coin” on a blemished BCG because it showed lots in stock. I kept getting told “it will ship next week”. After almost 2 months of this, I finally canceled the order. If you deal with them, keep your expectations low and be surprised if they actually meet them.

Oh boy… how will this look in court if you end up shooting a guy of Russian ancestry? Or get a Russian juror? What would it say about you if you *custom-made* a receiver with stupid shit along the lines of: European->African->Australian

Another unsatisfied customer. Constantly lied to about delivery times and ended up cancelling the order after their “in stock” product wasn’t shipped 3 months later with several “It will ship next week” promises. Lots of calls and unanswered e-mails and had to go through my CC to get my money back.

Finally received a billet lower from them after 15 months of waiting. Have the products they allow you to “buy” on their website are not even in production yet with no ETA something they don’t tell you upfront. I will say when I finally did receive my billet lower it was good work with clean engraving. I have yet to build it to see how it fits but it seems clean.

Just received my lower after placing order in Jan. ’13. I was under the impression that the lower was to be engraved but instead it was etched. Not what I wanted but the etching is well done. I am still waiting to hear from them about the virtual deal coin and how it is to be used.
I did email and call them several times over the 1 1/2 years of waiting and received several reason why (new building, electrical problem, to many orders) it was so late. Most likely I will not be dealing with them again.
