Revolver. 16 rds. 4.01 secs Fast.

Jerry 929

Jerry Miculek is still fast. Like that is a surprise to anyone. But watch the super slo-mo on the reload. Watching Jerry’s steps broken down in slow motion is just awe inspiring. Seeing him let go of the rounds before they even enter the cylinder so he can get his hand back on fire control simply amazes me. He is using a S&W 929 chambered in 9mm. 8 rds on moonclips.

The slow motion on this video really highlighted how incredible he is. That reload was incredible.

  • Robb Allen

I can’t reload as fast as he can in slow motion….

  • WaltherJJR

This guy is completely inspirational. Such speed and finesse. He gives you something to shoot for….pun intended.

The BEST Super slo-mo I have ever seen. Seems like Matrix movie quality. Jerry is THE ZEN MASTER of speed shooting ! Just amazing!

  • ProdigalSon

At .17 seconds per shot, as he says, I calculate:
    60/.17 = 352.9

Jerry Miculek’s trigger finger has a cyclic rate of 350 rounds per minute. Holy s**t.

Can anyone understand this guy? I mean, am I right or am I right?

  • AznMike

    Sooo…is this guy even human?

  • Yay

Does the 9mm loose velocity due to the chamber/barrel gap?

    • Cymond

Everything loses some velocity due to the cylinder gap. How much depends on the size of the gap and the pressure level involved. It’s different for every revolver.

    • floppyscience

      Yes, but it’s marginal.

BBTI did a test to see just how much cylinder gap affected velocity, and found that even with zippy .357 Mag loads the difference is usually within 50-75fps.

The Nagant 1895 was designed especially to squeeze out that extra velocity by closing the cylinder gap before firing. Since then we’ve learned it isn’t worth it and to my knowledge nobody else has bothered.
