    with laser sighting?

For an FN that looks pretty damn good.

After buying my first “long slide” (glock 34) pistol about a year ago, I lust after other long slide models. This is a good looking gun and may have to add one to my collection, after I get a 17L of course.

You might want the new Glock 41. Longslide 45acp Glock!!

  • floppyscience

I’ll take one with a blackened slide please. I fell in love with the FNS the first time I fired one. I think something like this would make an excellent comp pistol.

I did to. I have the 40 cal in hand for review. I was able to shoot it for the first time with Dave Zevigney during SHOT. It has a fine trigger compared to a Glock or any other polymer pistol. Just an excellent pistol.

Personally I like the trigger on the Steyr pistols a little better, but the FNS’ is definitely much better than Glock’s. :D

If your smart dump this buy a Glock series 9mm over this.

Never —man you need to try this one!

Glocks are overrated. Don’t get me wrong, I understand why they’re so popular, but for me the ergonomics aren’t very good and the stock trigger sucks.

Maybe several years ago Glock was the undisputed king of reliability, but honestly there’s stuff out today that’s every bit as good. I have an FNX .40 that I bought on a whim and it’s become one of my favorite pistols. It’s built like an HK but with a better trigger; it’s much cheaper too.

My Gen4 Glock21 and Glock35 have fantastic triggers, for glocks haha. All factory installed. no aftermarket goodies.

      • FourString

Precisely. The ergos (grip angle, trigger, control placement, magwell) on this FNH are a lot nicer. I’d buy FN just to have more choices in the future. Not everybody wants just another Glock.

Kinda cool, but not *really* a longslide IMO, 5″ barrel is fairly standard. I’d like to save that title for the 7″ barreled guns like the famous AMT Hardballer longslide. I’d love to see a modern handgun like that with a full-length frame.

    • Cymond

That used to be true, but nowadays it seems that 4″ is standard for service pistols, and 5″ is reserved for special guns. Look at the G17, FNX, XD, etc.

      • Alex

Yep, and I very much lament that fact

I really want to know that the tiny tanto neck knife in the last “EDC” picture is called.

Anybody recognise it? It looks like it has carbon fiber on the flats of the blade.

It’s a Special Circumstances Ballistic Radio Edition Maleficus. Construction material is Titanium and Carbon Fiber. We’ll have some for sale shortly, if you follow Ballistic Radio on facebook that’s where the announcement will be made…
