DPMS Gen II Photos

I recently wrote an article on the new DPMS Gen II .308. The photos were rather small with less detail than I would have liked. I was able to drop by the DPMS booth and obtain some better photos with plenty of detail. Enjoy

In addition several readers asked if a regular AR15 5.56 forward rail system would fit on this .308. The answer is an emphatic yes from the folks I spoke with today at the DPMS SHOT booth.

Yes there is. It’s a bit further down the road but it will sell for a bit less

Compatibility with regular AR rail systems and a company who can release reasonably priced weapons… I believe this line will be a winner. Had anyone discussed MSRP with the fine folks at DPMS?

They really aren’t 100% sure but I got the idea it would be in the $1200 range

SASS and Bull Barrel look awesome rest are just kiddy carbine copies.

**CONFLICTING INFO ALERT** I asked if AR15 rails would fit on DPMS’ vendor forum on ARFCOM and their response was that free float tubes are standard AR15 size, *but they use a different barrel nut*. That means third party rails won’t work unless they make a DPMS GII specific barrel nut for it. Here’s the thread on ARFCOM: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_30/244744_GII___A_few_questions.html

I wonder if the uppers and lowers are backwards compatible.
