Fobus Concealed IWB Series Holsters

Fobus is releasing a new IWB (inside the waistband) holster series in 2014.  The holsters will use a J-hook to attach to the underside of the belt, which Fobus claims reduces holster movement while carrying and drawing the pistol.

The new holsters will have a ventilated backing that acts as a pad between the holster and the body.  The pad is supposed to be soft and flexible, plus allow the shooter to further customize it to match his or her needs.  The pad is made of a rubberized, synthetic material.  The material should be impervious to sweat.

No MSRP or shipping date has been announced yet.  Fobus did not announce which gun models would be fitted first, though the catalog photos show Glock pistols.

Given it’s Fobus, Glock had to come first. I’m predicting 1911 and CZ/Jericho will be next.

Don’t hold your breath for M&P or Springfield XD/XDM.

The backing makes gripping the gun while in the holster very difficult. Friends don’t let friends carry Fobux

So, trim the grip area. Looks to be stitching all around the back pad, so a sewing machine should be able to fill in any areas that may now be open to separation. I am of the school “it works, it lasts, and it’s not expensive”.

Looks cool. Reminds me of a ventilated N82 holster which are nice as I have one for my Beretta Nano and Glock 19.

Oh, Fobus. Bless their heart. They try, they really do.

I have a number of Fobus holsters for various devices. This looks like an “I will be buying several” thing.
