Hornady 20 Gauge Heavy Magnum Turkey Load

heavy magnum turkey

Just announced, the new Hornady 20 gauge Heavy Magnum Turkey ammunition is a 3″ shell that uses 1 3/8 ounces of #5 nickel-plated shot.  According to Hornady, the shot used has “…the thickest nickel-plating in the industry, which reduces fliers and keeps more pellets on target for dense patterns.”

The load uses a Versatite wad and is rated at 1200 fps.  According to Hornady, hunters can use this to about 50 yards.  MSRP is $17.81 for a box of 10.

id agree if it is the non magnum version… dont really need magnum in a home defense situation unless you want to involve your neighbors

Now if Hornady will apply its VersaTite wad to a 20 gauge buckshot round using the largest pellet that will stack in two pellet layers, they will have another winner.
