The Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot in one word…

…Bacchanalia.

The Knob Creek Machine Gun shoot runs Friday through Sunday, twice a year, and Saturday night is the main event. About an hour before dark, folks are out on the range setting up all sorts of explosives while a crowd builds, anxiously awaiting what we all know is coming.

The lights go out, and the next thing you know machine guns are going off for almost 20 straight minutes. This year’s October 2013 edition did not disappoint. I’ve now crossed this off of my “Things to Do Before I Die” list.

Other than the beginning, my favorite part is at the 5:50 mark. Enjoy!

Too bad people have to go to these shoots to get some automatic trigger time rather than being able to buy one new and for the real price and not the hyper inflated price. THANKS OBAM…HUGHES! ya dingus… lol. looks fun, I dont even want to imagine paying for the rounds post panic to feed an automatic though…ouch.

There’s ostentatious displays of wealth, and then there’s firing your minigun for fifteen solid seconds.

    • Karina

Not that I’m against owning the things, but I see literally zero practical uses for a Minigun that doesn’t imply your bank account is at least 8 figures. 😛

Even I wouldn’t want to own one of those things. (But pretty please gimme an M249.)

Give me an MG42 or MG3…dat glorious German engineering and simplicity :D…

        • Asdf

Simplicity: A bolt that has 14 individual parts.

          • Clint Notestine

            seems to still work though

          • Doom

an AK bolt has 5 parts and I could put it together in my sleep. glock has… 20 something, I can easy field strip with just the glock tool. number of parts doesn’t necessarily make it complicated. I was mostly talking about the barrel changes though.

A whole lot less firearms on the line this year it looks like from the tape. But still on the bucket list.

Not to be confused with “the annual bacchanalia of peace on earth and good will to men” as referenced in “A Christmas Story” and which caused me to ask my father “What the **** is a bacchanalia?!”

  • avconsumer2

w t f is that hell being unleashed @ 16:00?!!!?! lol – did they have a Metal Storm there?!

    • Asdf

That had to be a firework, else something with a horribly worn barrel.

  • icchan

Y’know, I gotta suggest one correction. The one word is Dakkanalia.
