Green laser aiming devices are becoming smaller, cheaper and more common.  The latest introduction comes from LaserMax with a green version of the CenterFire for the Ruger LC9 and LC380 pistols.

The CenterMax aiming devices fit on the frame of the gun, forward of the trigger guard and under the barrel.

The unit weighs about one ounce and runs on a single 1/3 N lithium battery.  According to LaserMax, the battery will run the unit for more than five hours continuously.  The CenterFire carries a MSRP of $249 and a battery is included.

Since I own the older model, the LCP, I can appreciate this little add-on. Since the sights are very small and somewhat hard to see, in a situation when accuracy and speed is paramount to defending yourself, it can put you in a bad spot. This shaves the time required to aim the firearm dramatically. Even though the newer LC380 and the LC9 have better sights, this, in my opinion, is a must have for this line of firearms. I would tell customers that if they’re buying the LC380 or LC9 for conceal carry, they must get the laser sight for that firearm. Not to up sell them, because I truly believe in what I am saying is for their ability to better protect themselves and to get out of horrible situations alive.
