Mossberg “Duck Commander” Guns

Duck Commnander guns

Mossberg announced a multi-year deal with the stars of the Duck Dynasty television program that will result in a new line of Duck Commander firearms.

According to the press release, Mossberg and the stars of the reality TV program will work together to “…develop a line of branded “Duck Commander” guns across multiple categories including pump-action and autoloading waterfowl shotguns.”  A photo with the announcement stated Duck Commander-branded rifles would be included in the deal.

Mossberg stated an expected release date of fall 2013, and I imagine we might see additional models of these new firearms at the SHOT Show in January.

the “smite all those who once loved the evil one known as Will Hayden and his communist subversion known as sons of guns” people are going to show up and whine you are forewarned

    • Samuel Suggs

its not that I like sons of guns or any reality tv for that matter but these people just take it to far

      • Laserbait

        Sam,

A little effort into using punctuation and capitalization would go a long way, if you want people to actually understand what you’re trying to say.

I wasnt trying to exspress my philsiphy of life dood

  • Samuel Suggs

duck dynasty is definitvely harmless for the time being I suspect the producers will abuse it to some anti freedom aim like they did with doomsday prepers (remerber the shoot your cat for 5k so we can demonize gun owners people) but that was national geogrphic and they lead the show bye judgeing everyone with phscologists at the end so what the hell where you exspecting.

They have already told Phil to stop the praying when the family is all sitting around the table for a meal. Phil told them they could shove the show he wasn’t going to stop praying for anybody. The producers backed off.

      • Samuel Suggs

ok did not know that cool though

      • lolinski

Were you on the show? I know I watched a episode of it where a guy made a (pretty smart) setup with a pool to raise fish, chickens and plants. I promptly stopped watching when he said he didn’t need firearms since people are going to be good and share (not because of the firearm part but because of how naive he was).

      • ChrisB

Phil, that story has been debunked as an urban legend. http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/duckdynasty.asp

        • http://www.thefirearmblog.com/ Phil W “Senior Writer TFB”

I didn’t know that. Now I remember why I usually check with Snopes on these things. That fable was actually repeated on one of the big time radio talk shows. I might as well delete that one! I appreciate you chiming in.

What are they going to do with the Benelli and old Browning A5s they hunt with now?

    • Samuel Suggs

I dont think they will get rid of the A5 becuase its part of the show but they will proboly just stop showing the benneli

      • http://www.thefirearmblog.com/ Phil W “Senior Writer TFB”

Good possibility as far as the Bennelii. Of course they could also just use the Mossbergs for the show and do whatever when they aren’t filming.

I demand Disney-themed shotguns next with pictures of Donald Duck

        +100 internets to you sir

        • Samuel Suggs

thank you where do I spend Internets and can I use to buy guns?

          • JT

I Don’t know, but you can use internets to buy internets and if you can use internets to buy guns, that would be great. Never ending guns

          • Samuel Suggs

            kensian economics minus the guns

  • sneezer

never pictured these guys as sellouts…..but I guess I was wrong again…
Anyone that would hunt with a mossburg over a benelli has to be getting paid pretty good. Maybe the new shotguns they develop won’t rattle when you walk through the woods.
    BTW I own both.

  • Matt Ware

Yeesh.. Sell out much? I didn’t want anything to do with them well before I saw their cheap branded sunglasses at Walmart.

    • http://www.thefirearmblog.com/ Phil W “Senior Writer TFB”

Matt think about it for a minute if Wal-Mart came up to you and said we’ll give you $100,000 to use your name. Would you turn that down. I seriously doubt I would. Of course I don’t have to be concerned with that:-)

    • Hryan

You also have to remember that Duck Dynasty caters to the “redneck” crowd and beyond. Wal-Mart is probably the number one place this demographic shops, it’s just smart business.

      • http://www.thefirearmblog.com/ Phil W “Senior Writer TFB”

        You’re probably right on that.

  • RickH

I’m so glad I dropped cable TV a year ago.

  • Hryan

It’s a smart business decision. While not quite as good as Benellis; Mossberg produces quality guns at a lower price. The main demographic that has been supporting Duck Commander since the beginning might not be able to afford a Benelli, but likely could pick up a Mossberg.

  • Zius Patagus

Ah…the power of smart marketing. If Billy Bob wants a Duck Commander Mossberg 500 “just like them guys on tv” I say why not? You got to admit that “Duck Commander” is a cool name.
