Purple Rugers

Sturm, Ruger & Co. is always willing to do limited runs for distributors and others who are willing to pony up the cash.  In this case, TALO, Inc. worked with Ruger to produce a couple of purple pistols.

The first is a purple SR22.  The slide and lower portion of the grip are black, with the majority of the frame in purple.

The second exclusive gun is an LCP with a purple frame.  This gun also has a black slide, but all of the grip and frame are purple.  TALO stated on their Facebook page that the pricing on these guns carry a “slight premium” over normal Ruger pricing.

One of the nice things about polymer frames is the relative ease of making different color frames.  I imagine that one day frames could be made on demand, or at least ordered from the factory in custom colors.  I’d take one in a nice midnight blue.

  • Walther P-22???

    • Ruger SR-22.

The name of the article is “Purple RUGERS”

      • I know, it’s just that when I saw this pistol, I instantly thought off the P-22

  • …I like them; I think they will sell, but I still think ours are so much cooler:)

  • MOG

    • Duray

      Because not everyone is “tacti-cool.”

    • Why not?

    Color of royalty. Just sayin’

  • Skeptic

They can make plastic pistols in almost any color, including clear. I don’t know what Ruger’s formula would look like in clear. I saw pics of a Glock in Orange for a European Coast Guard Geoff Who has an allergy to purple, ever since he got dumped by a woman who wore it a lot.

  • Crossfire

That’s not a color made for specifically for Talo as stated. Ruger LC9 in that same purple at Cabala’s for over three weeks

  • Nicks87

The other day I was at the range and I observed a gentleman with a pink AR-15. In passing I commented that it was an interesting color for that type of weapon and he stated excitedly, “yes! I know, dont you think that it’s just absolutely fabulous?” I said, “Yes, yes it is.” Then I told him to have a nice day and went back to what I was doing. The short conversation left me thinking that the 2nd amendment truely is there for everyone to enjoy regardless of your lifestyle or background or what color you decide to paint your firearm.

    • I could have sworn most of your comments were “coloured guns are stupid”

  • ugly brit

When you guys stateside finally start making bright orange uppers/lowers UKARA are gonna do a big dump in their pants!

wow i knew they had some strict laws but that is ludicrous that they regulate airsoft so much more than what we regulate guns.

  • I think it would be cool to have a m77 or 10/22 in a blaze orange stock label it as the “all weather hunter” or “extreme survival”
