New for 2013, the LaRue Tactical in 7.62 is notable for it’s QD (quick-detachable) handguard. LaRue claims that after the rifle is reassembled that it will shoot a grouping within .25 MOA of the prior one before disassembly. The QD handguard feature is useful if you need to swap a barrel out quickly when you’re out in the field with limited tools.
The entire rifle can be broken down and put into a 17″ long case. Barrels come in 14.5″, 16″, and 18″ lengths. In addition to 7.62, the PredatOBR is available for pre-order in 5.56. There is currently about a 1-year waitlist.
