so a threaded barrel is tactical now? well i guess it has the trigger too?

i wouldn’t see this as the perceived tactical firearm. but i’m guessing they are going for the designated marksmen/sharp shooters of tactical units? the barrel can have a suppressor attached for more discrete operations.

I dont know jack about bolt guns but that looks like quite a deal.

cant wait to get a suppressor when i move out of Cali and to Alaska

Its nice to see more and more firearms coming with threaded barrels. With any luck (and a lot of hard work) we can get the suppressor removed from the NFA to make shooting these rifles that much nicer.

(Suppressors assist in accuracy, recoil and sound control. With a good can, you rifle could be just a bit more accurate due to the controlling of the gasses around the bullet as it leaves the crown)

Every classic bolt action hunting rifle is now a tactical sniper rifle. Not bad but a bit overoptimistic for Marlin who cant compete with Remington and Winchester for Police needs. Might be a good gun.

Overall except for price the Winchester Mod 780 Stealth and Remington 700 PSS are better buys on rifle well established as Police sniper rifles.

      70 stealth not 780 sorry.

Or you can spend about the same for a Savage Hog Hunter and get iron sights.

  • J-mart

Throw in good iron sights and a 20 round magazine and I’m sold.

I have one of the early X7VH 308’s with the super long heavy barrel; I’ve been tempted so many times to cut it down. Balance on the base model is terrible. Glad to see them introducing a spin-off model that addresses the above issue.

My personal experience with the X7VH has been nothing but great; it’s a low-cost alternative to the 700 and it easily shoots MOA. Now if we could only get a few aftermarket stocks…:)
