    Why?

  • Higgs

There has to be cheaper ways to ruin an 870. This zombie BS needs to end. Makes gun owners look like children.

    • BombedCarnivore

I thought shooting was first about saftey and second about having fun. I admit putting such graphics on a weapon isn’t everyones idea of fun but it’s not hurting anyone & good for a giggle. So why not let the people who choose to bring a little silliness to their enjoyment of firearms do so?

      • Higgs

My issue isnt with this particular design. Its with the whole fad of “zombies” in the shooting sports. We flaunt gun owners as trained responsible beings worthy of such rights. but this whole notion of “Zombie apocalypse” makes gun owners out to be disillusion morons with heavy weapons. Like i said, makes us look like children, which any anti-gunner could easily use as ammo against us.

      • JM

So could the Gadsden-themed P238s. So could the “Come And Take It!” bumper stickers. So could Ted Nugent. So could owning a dozen weapons.

Take your pick. The lefties will always skew the perspective to fit them, and the media will run with it. Meantime, how ’bout enjoying a little FREEDOM with that firearm?

    • David / Sharpie

There are a lot of so called, “zombie people” that either don’t like guns altogether or just don’t own any.

I don’t see your logic dude

  • John Doe

Let’s stop with the zombie posts.

    • Slim

I was thinking the exact same. It used to be once and a while and I would have a good chuckle… But now it seems it is at least once if not twice a week. Is it just me or is this just getting old, and fast!? It was funny for a time, but not anymore. Perhaps this is lesson we should learn, if we ignore it, it will go away…. both in the production of this stuff and on here? Just sayin…..

    • JM

Let’s accept the fact that the zombie posts bring traffic to a site that most people never care to donate to.

    • Agreed. I’ve been reading this blog almost since the very beginning and have always enjoyed it. However, lately it seems like Steve, or whoever else edits the blog, is simply trolling readers with these zombie posts. I think it’s been well established in the comments that regular readers don’t like these items, and they are beyond the point of being humorous. I suspect that there are very few regular readers who find the zombie products interesting, appealing, or funny.

      • David/Sharpie

I think in moderation readers would think it’s funny, but every 4th post is a zombie item.

AND Steve should post about semi-“useful” items instead of stuff like this

  • Foetus

This whole zombie nonsense almost makes me happy to be French. Our gun laws absolutely suck, but at least I’ll never see all this stuff in person ^^’

  • Darkness

Hideous. I ever see someone with that, I think I’ll slap ’em, take their shotty, and hand them the toy gun they should be playing with

    • JM

      Oh, a gun grabber, eh?

    • David/Sharpie

If I were to ever suffer a brain injury and actually buy this abomination, and you tried to take my gun away, guess where you’d end up?

I agree, it’s hideous, but people have the right to waste their money on this crap, let ’em do it

  • Reverend Clint

sorry guys for bringing this to abomination to light

  • schizuki

Does it include a mop for the District Attorney’s drool?

    • JM

No, but it comes with a set of nuts for people who care what liberals think.

      • schizuki

Try that attitude out on a judge, tough guy.

      • David/Sharpie

Try what out? He’s saying people shouldn’t give a crap (OR grow a pair to no longer care) what the liberal media/people think, our sport will be demonized no matter what is on our guns

      • schizuki

So what does his response have to do with my comment, then? I’m talking about DA’s, not liberals.

      • David/Sharpie

        Why would the DA care?

      • JM

In contrast, I’m sure a subpoena of your comments would make the DA jump for joy.

I don’t care what the DA thinks of me, because I don’t commit crimes. Why do YOU care what the DA thinks of ME?

  • Jerry

The zombie craze has now officially “jumped the shark”.

    • JM

Saying, “jumped the shark” jumped the shark in 1985.

  • BLG

It’s the neon colors that irritate me. It’s one thing to make toys look like real guns and another to make guns look like toys.

    • JM

Really? Haven’t heard any complaints about Vector firearms. Haven’t heard any news about gold-plated Desert Eagles getting mistaken for toys.

What does it matter what it LOOKS like? If it’s sold to a law-abiding citizen, then chances are no one will ever see it outside of a gun range. If it’s sold to someone up to no good, then I’m pretty sure the cops will still take care of business, even if the gun is blue and orange and says, “Non-Firing Replica” on the side. No teacher is going to say, “Oh, that’s just a toy” and let a student walk around with it, zombie theme or no.

  • Steve

This is just plain retarded. What a complete waste of money.

  • NickB

I wonder if I can get one with a troll painted on instead of a zombie, just for all the people who love to hate this stuff, and the trolls that come out to troll the people who hate this stuff.

    • David/Sharpie

That’d be a custom job, trolls wouldn’t get that, 14 year old kids can’t afford custom looks on their airsoft guns without mommys money

  • David/Sharpie

And I just got finished defending peoples rights to do whatever they want to their guns…now I’m gonna say this….

This is retarded, looks dumb, I don’t even know what else to say.

I guess to each their own……

    • Comeon

“I don’t like it, so I won’t buy it, but I WILL NOT BITCH about it…”

      Your words from above.

      • David/Sharpie

        Yeah, what’s your point?

I don’t like it, I won’t buy it. But I won’t bitch if someone else does.

  • fred

    That is enough.
We know there are lots of idiot zombie items.
Please stop telling us about them.
There are other things going on that are more interesting and relevant.
It is ugly, stupid and makes us look silly.

    • JM

And your comment…what…improves the situation, somehow?

  • jaekelopterus

The “zombie” branding seems to appeal mostly to socially-inept shut-ins who find the xenophobic themes appealing. These are the last guys I want to associate with during a disaster that requires the use of defensive firearms. “Zombie” themed guns provide a valuble warning sign indicating that the operator may be an unstable, paranoid man-child and I thank ATI and others for giving us normals a way to easily identify mal-adjusted misanthropes at the range!

    • David/Sharpie

You’re an idiot, just because someone likes zombies doesn’t mean they are socially inept man-children. It’s a fun hobby, let people who like zombies and zombie movies be.

I guess you think preppers are retards too? Most things they prep for wouldn’t happen either, but it’s their money, let them spend it as they see fit.

    • JM

Good. The last person I want to associate with in a defense situation is someone who is so unbalanced that they can’t recognize a weapon for what it is.

Gawd, if you have qualms about using a shotgun because of the STICKERS on it, then I have major doubts about your threat assessment and target acquisition.

“Help me! Get that shotgun and cover the front door!”
“No!!! It’s a child’s zombie gun!!! I’m not retarded enough to use it!!!”

  • rex

I think part of the reason this fad has peaked is partly due to narrow mindedness. A zombie apocalypse would be more about survival and evasion than being rambo. I for one cannot wait until they roll out buttstocks with “hypothetical zombie apocalypse hold out defense weapon to only be used in emergencies” emblazoned on the sides in uv ink.

    • David/Sharpie

I agree, people always think that zombie fans are “gonna git ther gunz nd pwn zambies” but in reality, many base survival preps on zombies, but don’t actually believe they’ll rise

  • David/Sharpie

To all the people talking about “slap ‘em, take their shotty, and hand them the toy gun they should be playing with” or “the operator may be an unstable, paranoid man-child” or that the “Looks” should have anything to do with the persons mental capacity, I guess y’all don’t like and would bitch about the Weatherby PA459 Reaper because of the skull camo “OH MY GOD IT LOOKS MORBID, THERE’S SKULLS ON IT, IT SHOWS ALL GUN OWNERS ARE KILLERS!!!!!!!!!!!”

Grow the **** up (edited myself, so people don’t whine about language)

It doesn’t matter what we have on our guns, or how they’re decorated, they’ll be demonized by the dumbass hoplophobs no matter what, grow up, have fun with your freedoms. You don’t like this stock? Good your you, don’t buy it. I don’t like it, so I won’t buy it, but I WILL NOT BITCH about it because “the gun grabbers will use it for ammo against us!!” or whine if someone bought it because it makes “gun owners look unstable”

    • Zombtroll

      The Troll is angered ^

      • David/Sharpie

I’m a troll because I support the freedom to do whatever you want to your own ******* (Again, edited) gun?

        Okay

    • cc19

I’m with you. I own no such things, but I’m sick of the, “I don’t like it so it should be banned,” attitude that have been eroding our freedoms.

      • David/Sharpie

Give an inch, the bastards will take a mile

      • W

the other funny one is: why do you need that!? LOL
“no sensible gun owner needs a semi-automatic”.
Well, no sensible driver needs a porsche, but I drive one 😀

  • SpudGun

I’m a bit unsure whether I like this or not – could someone please yell at me, call me a moron or somehow suggest that I’m anti-gun because I think all this zombie crap might look a bit stupid?

Remember, the more personal insults you can throw my way, the stronger your argument. Good luck!

    • JM

      Sarcasm ≠ wit.

  • 276pedersen

2 of these will be worth 1 used Hi Point in a year, hopefully sooner.

    • Bryan S.

Thats an insult to the hi-point.. at least its looks are born out of functionality.

      • 276 pedersen

No insult meant to Hi Point, just popped in my mind when I thought of affordable firearms. Every Hi Point owner I’ve met has had nothing bad to say about ’em.

  • Kommac

My overall opinion on the matter:

Everyone has unique taste in what a gun should look like or what they themselves like in the aesthetics/functionality of a gun. Much in the same way people have differing views on cars. Therefore, everyone also has a differing opinion on what they think about people who own guns/cars whose taste does not match their own.

FACT: people who whine and complain about other people’s taste and claim it has something to do with their mental stability are wrong.
FACT: those who are fighting the losing battle against guns who would use “zombie” guns as a weapon against legal gun ownership bear the same legitimacy as those who would say that people who own vehicles that contradict the majority opinion are a threat to the credibility of the majority.
FACT: Per the 1st Amendment, Steve has the right to post whatever he wants on his blog, including posts that some feel as “trolling” due to their zombie themed nature.
FACT: all readers of TFB who dislike such posts have the right to STOP viewing the blog, which would cause the site traffic to drop thus Steve’s ad revenue to drop, thereby hinting to him that he should change the content to better attract his audience.

Many of may wish to see less zombie propoganda and more “relevant” firearm news, if so, drop Steve an email and voice your opinion in a respectful way.

    • David/Sharpie

I highly doubt that his ad revenue would drop much. If I am not interested in a post I just skip it, many SHOULD do the same, especially in this case.

      Overall, I agree with you

    • SpudGun

      Hi Kommac,

You do realize that writing the word ‘fact’ in capital letters does not make it a fact?

Otherwise, I could write FACT: telling posters on The Firearm Blog, many of whom have been shooting firearms for 10-20-30-40+ years and have seen gun fads come and go, that they can’t air their opinions would be foolish at best.

If people don’t like something, then as has been stated, it is their right to say they don’t like something. You can either try to change their opinions by putting forward a cogent and reasoned argument or you can resort to yelling, screaming, name calling or arbitrary statements with no evidence to back up your claims.

No one needs another gun forum where the ‘group think’ dictates dogmatic behaviour and limits honest debate. That’s why I come here, to read a variety of opinions and make educated decisions based on the facts provided.

      • JM

“You do realize that writing the word ‘fact’ in capital letters does not make it a fact?”

No, the content of the sentence makes it factual.

You do realize that challenging a fact does not change the fact?

      • David/Sharpie

Only the second one “might” be wrong, the rest are fact

        1) “people who whine and complain about other people’s taste and claim it has something to do with their mental stability are wrong”

I’ve been called irresponsible and a man-child and I am not, neither are any of the other people I know who like zombies and movies.

        3) “Per the 1st Amendment, Steve has the right to post whatever he wants on his blog, including posts that some feel as “trolling” due to their zombie themed nature”

The 1st amendment deals with freedom of speech, of press and peaceful assembly (< We are gathered in an assembly, kindof) Steve 100% has the right to post whatever he wants on his blog.

4.1) "all readers of TFB who dislike such posts have the right to STOP viewing the blog"

Don't like what Steve posts, don't visit his blog, no one is forcing anyone else to come and read this blog, you have the CHOICE to read it.

4.2) "which would cause the site traffic to drop thus Steve’s ad revenue to drop, thereby hinting to him that he should change the content to better attract his audience"

This second part is wrong IMHO, I do not think people, who don't like his posts, leaving would cause a significant, negative impact to his ad revenue, new people come everyday, many come more than once a day so I do believe this is wrong

      • Kommac

SpudGun, I was in no way discouraging or belittling the merit of debate on this, a public forum. I fact, that is why I come here. I believe that debating such a topic as “zombie aesthetics on firearms” is fine and much progression in either direction can come as a result of it. I am glad that yours and others’ decades of experience can attest to this. All I was suggesting is that if someone wants Steve, the editor and writer of this blog to limit the seemingly trolling zombie content, to speak to him directly/personally via email instead of stamping their feet about on the public forum and claiming they will never come back if he does it again or belittling the overall content of the blog. I believe Steve provides us with a great service and I simply wish people could use the forum to express their opinions on the related subjects that are originally posted, instead of the quality of the post itself. As others have said (to beat a dead horse), if you don’t like it, don’t read it. But don’t troll the whole thread complaining about the fact that it is there. Now, addressing the ad revenue claim, you are right, that was misplaced and probably a stupid suggestion. I apologize.

Ultimately, some respect for the hard work that Steve and other guest writers of TFB put in is what should be paramount.

Thanks for the remarks SpudGun, David/Sharpie and JM.

      • SpudGun

They are perceptions not facts – until you can verify your hypothesis, it is just that.

However, my point isn’t about what constitutes a fact, it’s about new-ish posters coming on TFB and calling other people idiots because they have an opinion that differs from their own.

That kind of disrespect might be acceptable on You Tube, but there are some very intelligent, very knowledgeable and very experienced shooters on here.

The perception amongst most experienced shooters is that the zombie themed firearms are aimed at a particular market segment, a demographic that they would rather avoid. Rightly or wrongly, there is the stereotype of the young, immature and irresponsible shooter getting into the sport for all the wrong reasons and possibly causing harm to themselves and others.

Now wether this makes you ‘angry’ is up to you, but trying to impose your will by personally denegrating others is not the best way to express your views.

      • SpudGun

Thanks for the reply Kommac, it is much appreciated. Happy shooting sir.

      • JM

Well, look who suddenly got a conscience and decided to get all diplomatic-like!

Facts don’t need YOUR corroboration to make them correct. And just because a statement is theoretical in nature doesn’t mean it’s not a fact. Facts do not have to be verified, they have to be VERIFIABLE.

        You’re wrong.

      • David/Sharpie

        Spudgun

“The perception amongst most experienced shooters is that the zombie themed firearms are aimed at a particular market segment, a demographic that they would rather avoid. Rightly or wrongly, there is the stereotype of the young, immature and irresponsible shooter getting into the sport for all the wrong reasons and possibly causing harm to themselves and others.”

I belong to a Zombie Survival & Defense Wiki (It’s a forum) and none of the gun owners on there are “young, immature or irresponsible” (Well, there are young’uns there (Me included)) but all have been complimented on their level of maturity for their age. From what I have seen, the older, experienced shooters who whine about having guns with different colours and mythical creature names on other peoples guns are just close-minded to the changing times and what is “in” at the time.

I was at the gun show a few years ago and I picked up, IIRC, a Sig 552 and there was a guy around 60 walking behind me and I heard him say to his friend “All the young guys like that tactical shit” I couldn’t help but laugh at him, perceptions are usually wrong. And there will always be some “more experienced shooter” who will bitch and complain about what people do to their own damn guns.

        Just a fact of life

  • openminded

Zombie craze at its highest peak! 🙂
    I call it:
It can not get any worse!!! 😀
    (prove me wrong :P)

    • JM

Name + comment = head explode

      • openminded

…well, even open minded fella like me got carried away when I have been confronted with those tough zombie dudes lurking from gun furniture 😀
Frankly, I haven’t expected something like this to bee seen for real…

  • BC; MT

    Oh, more zombie stuff.

Why do I keep coming to this blog?

    • David/Sharpie

Not sure, don’t like the content, you can A) Stop coming to this blog altogether, B) Don’t click on things you wouldn’t be interested in, C) Quit whining if you DO click on things you wouldn’t be interested in, or D) Keep whining for no reason.

Take your pick, no one is forcing you to come here

      • David/Sharpie

Am I wrong in saying that? (To those who thumbed my comment down)

  • Nicks87

Let me know when the set goes on sale at Toys-R-Us.

    • JM

I’m sure someone here will lend you their Babies R Us discount card.

  • openminded

…Guys, maybe we all take this zombie craze wrongly?
Maybe all this stuff is intended for zombies to use, when out brake starts?…
ATI just wants to be prepared for that… business is business, right?
Like, many zombies will have Remington 870 at hand, and some tech-stylish-savvy half-rotten-hooligan will have desire to inspire his friends with appropriate morale booster?

After all, It’s written “Zombie Stalker”! It means, zombie who stalks on somebody, right? 🙂

I think there should be vote for most hilarious zombie related gun product yet.My vote would go for this amazingly mean, ruthless, ultimate zombie bad ass shotgun stock 😀

    • David/Sharpie

Nah, it’s for those who will stalk zeds…..LIKE ME!!

(Eventually, at first I’ll be looking out for me and mine….then reduce the zed population

  • Riceball

I’m normally not one for criticizing zombie themed guns, accessories, and ammo but this one is just too much for me. Not that I’ve found any of the other zombie guns particularly good looking but this stock and forearm combo is just plain ugly, in my opinion.

I think that somebody ought to come up with a gun that would actually be useful in a zombie apocalypse and not just an existing gun that’s been re-themed; I’m not sure what could make a gun any more useful for a zombie apocalypse than any other but I’m sure something could be done to justify the marketing even if it’s just a minor change so long as it’s not just cosmetic. I think that something like that would bring more acceptance to zombie themed guns and accessories and justify the marketing and could be cross marketed to the survivalists/preppers.

    • David/Sharpie

I don’t think someone should build a purpose built zombie gun, I want to build a fun gun that is themed towards zombies, but at least I’d have semi-useful items on it, and real reasons for it.

Have you seen Red Jackets zombie gun? No irons, the scope is attached to the stock, not the gun…there are a number of problems I see with it
