  • Creep

Like half a million airsoft guns just got uglier.

    • Atmo

Agree, the rifle is like an April Fool joke that went horribly wrong.

    • AirsoftFRWN

Actuily real airsofters very rarely paint their guns, and if they do 99% of the time it’s Mil-Sim colors, I hate seeing airsoft get joked about when it really is a fun sport to play. Even if you yourself don’t play it’s rude to to think that airsoft people would go to this low of a level. I understand where you are coming from with the little COD kid airsofters on facebook or youtube but what about this type http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p36/extrus/101_0073.jpg
Thanks to Airsoftsociety.com for picture, also to be noted this was either before or after a game safty glasses are required.

  • Ogremensch

Hooray, another marketing ploy which seemingly intentionally aids in the marginalization of gun owners legitimacy. Just what the market/country needs right now. I feel like i should vomit on the people responsible for this deplorable fad. Dont get me wrong, Im a huge zombie fan, but does that kind of entertainment and nonchalance belong in the same realm as live ammo and loaded weapons? Lets stick to nerf guns and super soakers, please. Or you know, wait for little timmy to blow off neighbor jimmys head because he figured his brothers zombie gun was a new airsoft pistol……which I also dont support. But thats not the point! *haaaarumph* >_<

    • JM

Kowtowing to public image with your safety on and your barrel plug in is still kowtowing.

  • SpudGun

Zombie DuraCoat? I still can’t wrap my head around normal DuraCoat. Why anyone would want to crudely spray paint a perfectly good firearm is beyond me.

I like the fake splattered blood effect, I might use the same effect on the hood of my car to give the impression that I like running people over. I’m sure everyone will see that I’m just having a joke.

    • Other Steve

      +1 to you sir

Everyone will just totally ‘get’ it because it’s just so obvious.

    • JM

You must not celebrate Halloween. I can’t imagine you having any fun at all.

      • SpudGun

By your bizarrely non-sensical logic, you must celebrate Halloween every day. No doubt in your homemade troll costume.

      • JM

Oh, how clever! Now do one about this guy who thinks he has stature on The Firearms Blog.

  • Dave

Do they have a version where you can paint a zombie Fonzie jumping over a zombie shark?

    • JM

No. Apparently that one didn’t pass the Blog Commenter Qualification test.

  • schizuki

Zombies have jumped, eaten and excreted the shark.

    • JM

Then the crabs must have a lot of money, because it’s still selling like crazy. A Ruger LCPZ (Zombie) was sold in 30 seconds on a radio auction in Houston today.

  • El Duderino

What better way to spruce up a $1500 converted Saiga + $500 EoTech than with a Duracoat pattern that looks like a 3 year old’s fingerpaint masterpiece.

    • JM

Well, if someone spent $2,000 on a Saiga and an EOtech, then it’s pretty much a given that they have bad taste.

  • Other Steve

Hey Steve, how about a little discretion for your readers? If you post this crap as if it’s a legitimate press release, doesn’t that sort of soften the effect of real news? Maybe if no one posts this stuff, they’ll just stop making it? (hooray!)

Guns, not Politics… or Stupid Shit? :)

  • Graham 1

    *Shudders*

  • kjjohn

I live right next to Lauer Custom Weaponry.

    • kjjohn

The guy who runs it keeps a big yellow CLASS III ARMORED Hummer H1 parked out front. His store is pretty cool, but I agree with everyone else. All this zombie crap on guns needs to stop. When you watch a zombie movie, are the protagonists shooting guns that have fake blood paint and “ZOMBIE SLAYER” emblazoned on the side?

  • malard

now i kinda like the shade of tan that the rotting flesh is.

    • kjjohn

Hey, it would look kinda nice if the whole gun was that color. : )

  • C3PO

Yeah, they keep coming out with zombie stuff and I can’t find sparkly metal flake high gloss purple gun paint anywhere. . . WTF?

  • Justmeagain

I love the zombie movies and books but hate that crap on guns. The genre is for entertainment but when you start putting the paint and similiar themes on firearms you make gun owners look childish, irresponsible, stupid and possibly mentally ill. It reflects badly on all of us when this stuff is seen by non gun owners.
Yes, you have freedom of speech. It’s your gun. You can do what you want with it. Etc, etc, etc.
It’s still childish and unprofessional looking.
There are many Americans that don’t own guns but still have an unbiased view on gun owning. They know what they know about gun owners from what they see in the media and the gun owners in their life. If all they know is that their neighbor has zombie paint on his AK it makes all of us look semi retarded in their eyes. Hell, it’s hard enough getting some people to accept “Assault Weapons.” This just makes it worse.
Like it or not we are all judged by our gun handling and demeanor when using firearms. This stuff just gives the anti gunners more fodder for their campaigns.
BTW, my daughter came home from school and told me that a high school teacher told her that some of us own guns for sporting purposes, some for self defense, some just because we want to exercise our rights and some because we believe that the zombies are coming. Now this teacher is a moron but she got this idiotic opinion from somewhere and has now passed this view on to young impressionable minds. We need to police our own in this regard. I personally would never buy this crap or allow anyone with it to shoot on my property.

    • Vrt

Zombie was created, bcs people like to kill others people and thanks too zombies they can legally watch it movies etc.

But to be honest zombie themed guns and equipment are extremely stupid like people using it.

    • JM

I’ll bet you have a problem with pink guns, too, huh? You wouldn’t let your wife shoot a pink-handled Lady Smith or a pink-trimmed Browning Buckmark on your property, either, would you?

      • Justmeagain

I don’t have an issue with the pink guns. They obviously are marketed towards women and there’s a ton of pink stuff for women in every regard.
Splashing zombie colored paint on a firearm just looks retarded. I wish there was another way to describe it but there isn’t. I suppose it’s a marketing ploy. Who are they marketing the paint scheme to…..idiots.
Actually I’m beginning to get on board with the zombie themed guns. I’ll be able to walk onto any range and be able to identify the unsafe, unprofessional and unqualified shooters at a glance. They won’t even have to put rounds downrange, into the sky or into the dirt for me to recognize the childish fools that should just be home playing Xbox.
Pink guns…..no biggie. I put the pink colored ladies guns up there with the bright colored hiking, biking, climbing, etc gear that is aimed at skilled users (or at least those ladies trying to gain skills). I don’t even have a problem with brightly painted survival guns but I’m not crazy about them.
Painting a gun to look like it’s bloody or covered in guts is simply stupid, childish and as intelligent as putting fake bullet hole decals all over your car.

      • JM

Oh, I’m sorry…I didn’t realize that intelligence was a prerequisite for owning and shooting a firearm. If that’s the case, you’d better turn yours in for your lack of punctuation alone.

It’s quite condescending and presumptuous of you to assume something about someone’s character because of the color of their gun. You don’t carry a concealed weapon, do you? If so, you might reconsider – your threat assessment could use a refresher course.

  • Foetus

Looking at this poor gun makes me want to cry :(

  • James

Just posting to say that is a really ugly gun. Not even clearing my browser history or drinking is going to let me forget that.

  • Brandon

I feel like all the posts on this zombie themed crap is just an attempt to troll us

    • JM

I’m so sick of this troll fad! Trolls are the new zombies. Gahh!

  • NickB

It’s a shame Mikhail Kalashnikov lived to see such terrible days.

    • JM

You mean the days when one gun owner has a problem with how another paints his gun? Yeah, it is getting pathetic, isn’t it?

      • David / Sharpie

Let ‘em, they already hitch and complain, in Canada we face much more shit than you guys.

I was actually looking at a few airsoft guns at the last gun show, I could not believe how real they looked and felt. But I’d use them for training wherever I wanted. (see the video Travis Hailey did on airsoft, it’s been posted on this blog)

So, you think that due to having freedom to paint my gun blue, green, purple, red etc, makes me sound like a hostage taker……..reasoning?

      • NickB

I was saying the statement that firearms ownership is all about the right to do whatever you want sounds like your going to go out and take a hostage like a phycopath because you “Have the right to do whatever you want since you own a firearm”(it was a joke) in Canada you do face much more shit, and I’ll say that mainly in the airsoft area. Did you know all airsoft guns in canada have to be clear or they are illigal? Based off the fact that you saw the airsoft guns at a gunshow only I’ll have to guess that you’ve never played, I have. The teams I played with ages range from 12(kids younger brother) to 34, so while the older teams(I included) like the Military simulation look, the younger one’s love this zombie stuff. Also on a side note I Don’t think airsoft will catch on as guntraining in the army due to something called a hop-up(You cann look it up)

      • David/Sharpie

Whatever you want…..to your gun. God you’re an idiot if you think like that.

Nah I’ve never played, I used to think it was so retarded, my opinion has changed on Airsoft, not the game, but the guns themselves. I do have a couple spring airsoft guns, I never use them though.

Actually it’s changed, now they can be metal or painted. And Japans military use airsoft for CQB training. As do many civilians.

I know what hop-up is, my pump action rifle (Looks like a shotgun, but only shoots one BB) has it

      • NickB

hahah I don’t think like that, that’s why I had (Joke) next to what I wrote.

      • David/Sharpie

        Good, just making sure

      • NickB

oh looks like a new zombie kit got posted today for the 870, see you there.

      • David/Sharpie

Just responded actually………god that one is dumb

    • W

Im sure he’s tickled pink. Im sure he enjoys the AK and 7.62×39 gaining widespread popularity in america.

      • NickB

I can paint my hand bright red and some will say I have the right to do that and others will say that I look like a idiot. It’s a common arguement dating back to the start of time, and while I have the right to paint my gun that way I’ll still look like a idiot at the range.

      • NickB

I can paint my hand bright red and some will say I have the right to do that and others will say that I look like a idiot. While I have the right to paint my gun that way I’ll still look like a idiot to most people at the range.

      • NickB

My mistake I ment to reply to JM

      • David / Sharpie

Nick, do you really care that much about what people think of you? Pretty “pre-teen” don’t you think?

You have the right to paint your hand or gun whatever colour you want, AND you shouldn’t care what people think.

Isn’t that what firearms ownership is all about? The right to do whatever you want?

      • NickB

Nick, do you really care that much about what people think of you? Pretty “pre-teen” don’t you think?

I care what it makes the firearms community look like, a bunch of clowns who just want to paint their weapons to look silly. Some media whore would love to take a picture of a guy with that gun with his finger on the trigger with a “I’m in the NRA and I vote” shirt.

You have the right to paint your hand or gun whatever colour you want, AND you shouldn’t care what people think.
I think you should get into airsoft because they love this sort of stuff(As a player I can say that)

Isn’t that what firearms ownership is all about? The right to do whatever you want?
Yeah that’s what owning a firearm is, the right to do whatever you want -_- , you sound more like a hostage taker then a member of the firearms community.

  • jdun1911

A word of advice. If you’re going into the woods or train/compete in foliage areas. It is best to mark all your equipments in very bright colors.

    • JM

A word of advice: if you’re trying to be stealthy, a shotgun may not be your best friend.

      • jdun1911

My post has nothing to do with stealthy.

Apparently you never been to the woods before. Good luck finding your weapons, magazines, and equipments.

      • JM

But it did pertain to the subject of camouflage, no?

  • Kyle

Zombie theme has become the new thing to tack onto an existing product, like tactical was just a year or two ago.

    • Other Steve

The difference is that tactical stuff generally has a use or wants to look useful. This is useless and wants to just look dumb.

      • Kyle

Sorry, I should have made the difference between tactical and tacticool clear

  • JM

Keep posting these, Steve. I love to hear all the guys who can’t get boners anymore squeal about “this derned newfangled zombie craze”.

Firearms are fun, and zombie gimmicks are fun. The only thing worse than a media whore trying to make guns look dangerous is a firearm owner who is afraid of his guns looking dangerous to the media.

  • Nater

Forgetting about the ridiculous paint job, just look how high that EOtech is from the line of sight… You’d be using the same head position as you do with the back-up MRDS you see mounted on ACOGs and SpecterDRs except it’s the primary optic. EOTechs just don’t work that well on Kalashnikov pattern guns.

    • Tuulos

Considering that it seems to be mounted on Saiga 12 I don’t think it matters that much. But honestly, Ultimak + Aimpoint Micro are a pretty good combination for AK.

Now, the cheap stock that mounts so it isn’t on the same line with the barrel…

      • Nater

Cheek weld matters on a shotgun as well.

  • Justmeagain

Some people are praising and defending the paint scheme. To each his own. If it’s your gun then you can do what you want to it.
Of course just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
I live in a Southern state with high gun ownership, large numbers of hunters and about 2.5% of our population has CCW permits.
Even with our high gun ownership I still have people ask me about registering a gun (we don’t have that crap) and many think that my AR’s are fully automatic until I tell them otherwise.
Not everyone knows guns, knows about the gun issues or has any idea that people are working towards bans. Some are on the fence about the gun issue and I’d like to get them on our side. When the Lefty media is talking about how unsafe and incompetent gun owners are and how many accidents we have each year this zombie painted gun is a great tool for them to use.
It screams incompetence and I would give anyone using this gun a very close look at the range.
How many people would feel confident with a group of young men showing up with this crap while you’re at the range with your young child? I’m sorry. Some might like this stuff but no one is going to honestly say that it projects a competent, safe or knowledgable appearance.

    • JM

So the PERCEPTION of competence or incompetence is more important than competence itself? So that police officer with the gaudy nickel P226 or Kimber Raptor might be a danger to those around him?

I think you’re playing to the lefties too easily. They’ll find another reason to make gun owners look bad. Why deprive yourself of your own freedom to do what you want with your guns just so they have less ammo (no pun intended) against you?

The Second Amendment is reciprocating – it’s there to give you the freedom to keep it there. Don’t let the FEAR of someone thinking you’re stupid keep you from doing something that might not be SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE to THEM. Because if you keep that charade going, you may as well get rid of the gun – that’s what they want, and to them you’re “incompetent” for some contrived reason or another until you do.

      • Justmeagain

I don’t think that you can compare a nickel plated pistol or a Kimber Raptor to a firearm that has fake zombie guts paint on it.

      • JM

Yeah, you sure can. Gaudy is gaudy.

  • Sam

While I love zambies, and specifically the killing thereof, I think that the only thing more beautiful than a weapon furnished with wood is one draped in black.

If I want zambie blood on my firearm, I’ll earn it. And then I will very carefully remove it.

  • Foetus
  • John Doe

If I wanted my guns to look like that, I’d get a toddler to splatter paint it for free. Not that I want them to look like that.

    • JM

I’m sure SpudGun is available (if you change your mind).

  • Nicks87

Wow, this zombie garbage is getting ridiculous.

I love the walking dead and other zombie shows but if some of you didnt notice there is a war on right now in America for our 2nd amendment rights and this “zombie” stuff isnt helping us make a strong case for keeping our right to bear arms.

Anti gun people use stuff like this to demonize gun owners and make it look like we live in a fantasy world.

    • JM

“A war on for our 2nd Amendment rights”? It’s gotten better in the last few years, not worse. Our guns aren’t going anywhere. Don’t fall for the hype.

      • Justmeagain

Let’s see where we stand today.
Our government let illegal guns flow to drug cartels and criminals in Mexico. They then blamed law abiding Americans and gun dealers for the violence across and around the border. They blamed us repeatedly for the gun deaths in Mexico and in the border states while letting 2000 guns walk into the hands of criminals.
This was the action of our government.

We have an Attorney General and President that both have stated they would love to see the Assault Weapon ban brought back on a permanent basis. We have countless politicians in government that want gun bans. They are well supported and funded by anti gun millionaires and billionaires. They’re organized and guess what?
The fucking media is largely on their side and continue to lie and misrepresent guns and gun owners. Do you want a current example? How about the push to do away with Stand Your Ground laws that we are seeing?

If things are better today it’s only because our economy is so screwed up the Dems haven’t had time to go after guns. They can barely get their pet projects through congress and even Democrats are now buying guns in record numbers. Guess what though? If Obama gets a 2nd term he won’t have to worry about the voters. He may not get a new law passed but when has he worried about laws or the Constitution? Executive Orders and signing statements can do a lot of harm.

Just because we aren’t hearing about gun bans everyday doesn’t mean the anti gunners aren’t working against us. It’s easier to remain vigilante and watch them then it is to try to regain a right. It took 10 years to get rid of the AWB. The Liberals won’t make the mistake of putting a sunset clause in anti gun legislation again.

BTW, if Obama gets reelected we get an anti gun douchebag that doesn’t have to worry about being reelected but one that does have to worry about getting financial support from Liberals after leaving office. He will expect lots of donations to his foundation and speaking fees. He will have no reason to even pretend to be a moderate.
If we get Mitt Romney as President well get a RINO that signed an Assault Weapon Ban while serving as Governor.
I would say it’s a good idea to watch these guys and since the definition of a politician is, “A well funded liar,” I have no trust in them on guns.

      • JM

Sure, the government has its problems. But there’s no way they can touch our guns unless we allow them to. Quit trying to see through the eyes of an anti-gunner. If anything, products like this generate more interest in gun ownership.

Okay, so it may not move any Les Bauer customs or McMillians, but someone may see an ad for this and say, “I’ve never thought about owning a gun before, but this might be a fun hobby to start.”

And in the meantime, you’re on the sidelines calling them names like “retarded” and “childish”. Maybe you should consider how it looks to an anti-gunner when they see stodgy old shooters like you posting NO FUN ALLOWED signs on your property and harumphing around with such a judgmental attitude problem.

The infighting that gets started over the most insignificant topics reinforces the instability theories that libs like to throw around more than some stickers and paint ever will.

  • David/Sharpie

….okay….I’m all for zombies and stuff, and some things I do kinda like (Zombie themed guns, knives, etc) but this just looks stupid, it just looks like a bunch of stickers on the gun.

I’m all for doing what YOU want to YOUR OWN gun, but I wouldn’t touch this stuff in a million years. But, to each his (or her) own.

PS: Any zombie survival fans out there?!?! Haha

  • JamesD

I have two responses to this. Take your pick.

    1. What good is this? There isn’t even enough green to deter the zombies.
    2. $82 to ugly a gun. Nuff said.

    • David/Sharpie

      1) People may think it looks cool.

      2) People have spent a lot more on stuff that is a lot more stupid than this

  • Mike Knox

Seriously, what’s with this Zombie trend going on these days?

    • David/Sharpie

It’s what’s “IN” with the “fun gun” crowd, next one will be aliens…..

      • Mike Knox

        You humans confuse me..

      • David/Sharpie

        ROBOT!!!!!!!!

      • Mike Knox

Hah-ha! Nobody suspects the Cat. EXCELLENT!!!

      • David/Sharpie

Haha, uh oh, I just got my cat about a year ago…..HE’S GONNA KILL ME!!

      • Mike Knox

        Mew..
