Arms Dealer launches free gun classifieds

Daniel P, the president and founder of PAFOA, has launched a free gun classifieds site.

Daniel says

Arms Dealer 2.0 has launched with an easy to use new look and free classifieds. The new site is purpose-built from the ground up to allow you to easily buy or sell firearms and related items. At ArmsDealer.net, we’re committed to making classifieds just work. Unlike most sites that use forum and blog software to (badly) handle classifieds listing, we’ve custom built our own software from the ground up specifically to help people buy and sell firearm-related items.

We’ve got a big list of new features for you to check out:

  • Free Classifieds, no posting or transactional fees.
  • Buyers can filter classifieds by Product, Manufacturer, or State to find exactly what they’re looking for.
  • Custom software lets you find local buyers and sellers in your area.
  • Easy to use, uniquely structured Feedback System that allows you to have a clear picture of who you’re dealing with.
  • Private Messaging system that lets buyers and sellers coordinate sales.

Daniel is also running a competition to promote the classifieds where you can win gear.

  • You can sell guns on craigslist, can’t you?

  • Andrew

No, you cannot. Thus why Armslist was created, for private face-to-face firearm sales.

  • Steve

I’ve used gunlistings.org with no problem before.

They have a pretty good site from everything I’ve seen.

  • Josh

This seams really awesome but i would have to know what happends if you get burned by someone. Do they insure the transaction or what.

  • Thanks for the link guys!

There’s a handful of sites out there doing classifieds and each have some plusses and some minuses but I figured I’d take a crack at it since we were already getting lots of traffic to our gun shop/shooting range database.

As it keeps getting developed I’m think there will be some really neat things I can do with the technology.

If you have any comments or criticisms please feel free to email me directly: dan@armsdealer.net

The signal to spam ratio is already starting to get painful.

  • Lance

Looks nice but can it take on Gunbroker.com???

  • J, I have blogged about similar websites since I started TFB back in 2007.

  • Hey Josh,

For the time being Arms Dealer is definitely Caveat Emptor. In the mean time though our only role is to help buyers and sellers find each other, organize the offers and allow users to leave feedback. The actual transaction is done completely outside our system once an offer is accepted.

Depending on how it grows that may change but I’d be curious to hear what other sites are doing (if anything.)
